  1. Hi Steve, Don’t worry about it mate. I don’t think that you are looking at it in the right way buddy. You shouldn’t be thinking that people have no faith in you buddy because they do. It’s not about that mate at all and between me and you it was me and only 4 other regulars on here chatting about some of your posts privately via Pm, Nothing bad was written about you as a person and no one said that they didn’t like you etc. It was only the contents of some of your posts were discussed between friends as they would do down the pub etc, so only a small percent of the section regulars
  2. i've heard about over exsposing, but untill recently never sussed how to make it work, because a slightly too much of an over exsposure and its blown out.. but yup have to agree, when the exsposures right, them sully hi exsposure suddenly seem alright lol.
  3. yes that is a hi iso..lol i wouldnt dare go above 1600 at a push with the 500D.
  4. its a cemitary building, i think the arch's were for horse and carriadge at one time, looks like its been closed a few year too.
  5. Is that the correct way around??? hows mean? lol its not true today (and probably never was lol). its from the good old days where every gun in 177 was 9.5fp and every 22 was 10,5.....hmmmm) its what was said for years by the pre pcp guys in the golden years of yonder aged peoples.
  6. 25 yards put the 'flat' bit closer on the cross hair in .22 tis an 'old' rule of thumb though. as in the old 177 for feather and 22 for fur...
  7. you could wait for ome of those drizzly warm days, they cant see much and dont seem to bothered about anything but eating, ears sodden and drooped. pidgeons do the same thing, just sit there. good shooting
  8. he was just a hanging around like..as yu do.
  9. errghh eghhh ish... to thirty yards yup...to 40? pushing it. it is posable but guys used to take doves in flight with a stockless musket to 40 yards. for your full range shooting (stuff like FT to 55 yards) there is a little edge that helps in having your scope at the right angle(shimmed) and hight.. you can get null spots at certain distances that sort of make it very hard to hit unless your on a reflex shooting leval, i.e. you just know through lots of practice where the pellet hits. its the diference between an open sight on very low to the barrel very short range, and 50 yard shot
  10. opens are a three point visual thing.. look at the target then bring into veiw the nipple and V all in one, its weird at first (coming from a one point veiw in comparison) but after you suss that it's just a look at target.(a couple three days shooting..) ''few good points made as i said i just find it quicker to be on target especialy when in woodland, good point about using in low light as well as i have also struggled at times when its getting dark with a scope, but then prob down to the scope quality'' yes it's down to the glass quolity.. i bought one of the 'jap crap' scopes in t
  11. truth of the matter is how good are your eyes.. and, the closer to the barrel the sight the morre suited for closer shooting, e.g. a barrel mounted lazer on the tip is like 2 yards to 20 yards, dot on the head and hey presto, doesnt matter if its at the side eather, as long as its not too far out..near as poss. open sights with good eyes..30-40 yards easy with them HW lollpop n back V.. exselent. but, near too deadly. as is the 4x20 scope out to 40 yards if you can get the velosity without going over the limit.. again the 4x20 is a good ratter..its low on the barrel, good near to.
  12. yup they'll do. there isnt a calibration weight, but a trip to a chemist (after a shave and spruce up or theyll asume your a druggy) and ask if they can check them to see if theyre on or not. failing that find a calibrating weight to check them against.
  13. try a search for pouder scales, or jem scales, 1000'th of a gram should do it, but unltimately 1000'th of a grain if you can.
  14. plus pellet shape/hardness etc.. i like a good 5fp's ariving.
