Do you have to put hens in at night, or could you just leave their house open for them to go in themselves? As long as the pen was secure obviously? Just asking because I might be putting chucks on an allotment and I probably wont be there every day.

My God, they should be kicked off immediately. I suppose you could put up a lot of barbed wire! In fact, could you use geese as guards? Just let them roam through the allotment, and have small fences around the beds?

Springers or collies can be used, any dog with a good nose and instinct, if you can train it. Saw an Italian fella on telly, he used what looked like springers or crosses, he ate the truffles like they were just mushrooms, didn't sell them or anything.

Doga, good point. It would be a good idea to introduce just a little meat mixed with kibble if your dogs are always given 100% kibble.

Yeah, raw diets are really the best thing ever for dogs. Just think of it in relation to yourself. Which is better for you, takeaway's and mcdonalds and convenience foods every day? Or Fresh fruit and veg, and fresh hunted meat? Just look on the internet on breeders sites or whatever, for people saying how much their dogs health and their breeding programmes have improved since feeding raw. Dog food is really like junk food for dogs. Thats not to say never feed it to them, lost of people can't afford 100% raw. Thats absolutely right. Not to mention brainwashed. Religion or culture shouldn't be an excuse for anything. The way they treat the women is just sick. Like killing them for being raped!? In their own countries a woman is worth nothing to them, and boys are treated like princes. When a girl is born its given to the mother to look after, when a boy is born, its taken away and treated like royalty, and given the best of everything. Its really weird.

I can remember when I was about 2, being in my nanny's parlour, green walls, looking at ornaments. Then my mam and Nanny came to get me, went into the porch and we must have left. I can also remember when I was 3 or 4, running down the back plot at my nannys old house (used to live there), on a sunny day. The grass had been cut and there were haybales all around. Yeah. There are loads of weird muslims, but theres this one lad in my school, Muhammad, and he's so normal! You'd almost forget he's muslim except for his name! He wears really trendy, bright, label clothes and shoes and has a Gorey accent. He hangs out with the normal people, not just grouping with the muslims. He's sound aswell. Strange because usually they're really quiet and don't hardly talk to no one except other muslims. Extremist anythings are bad, Christians did more than their fair share of killing, torturing and rampaging! It now seems tro be Islams turn to do their bit!

The one I'd be gettin would be £30 pounds for 300m. Yeah, davidomarr, I'm hopin there would be a few rabbits to take! I'd be so happy if I got one. Chickens would just be a massive bonus! Never had the soil or space to grow a decent amount of anything, despite how much effort I've put into trying, every year, always been measly harvests, or they fail.

Wow, didn't think about the waiting lists so much, better get my name in! Its not 100% confirmed that I'll be going to England as the college havn't accepted me yet (going for interview in March), but its fairly certain I think. Hopefully that wont make a difference anyway. I'd say I'd have time for it too, I won't be studying all the time, and I don't drink much! I'd like to keep about 4 hens on mine too for eggs and meat. Seriously fair prices for allotments over there! Here every single square inch of land is grabbed immediately, sold, and built on! I know the feeling mate!

Do many of you's have allotments? How much do you pay for 'em and what do you think of 'em? I'd love to get an allotment when I go to England, even if I didn't have much time with study, its still worthwhile as they were cheap annually when I looked it up. Don't know if they'd give me one with campus accomodation, but it says 'open to all restidents of..', worth a try anyway. Its unfortunate that we don't have allotments in Ireland, I'd have one straight away! We don't have any sort of common land or anything either. Fcuking Paddys just rob you blind. Stabbath

I think they are gorgeous looking dogs. Very hard temperment, like a pitbull x 5 I'd say, since most of em are still used for hard work, whereas most pits are pet bred and have lost a lot of gameness. Wouldn't like one as a pet to be honest unless I had vast land. I'm sick of hard dogs. They are a mix of a load of breeds including boxer.
