  1. You are all wicked! Good day out salmon, and decent bag as well!
  2. Wonder if it's his animal, or he's just been sent to tame it? Not working is it?
  3. Superb piccies Richie, you seem to get the piccies I want to get, only my camera is sheet, and my hands are always full of sheet! Top work again to all of you!
  4. Took the old one out today, he had not been out since last weekend, he was keen to go. I was out yesterday, and was keen to stay in bed. Not so bad when we got up there though, we had one of the young dogs with us, (the other is getting better now, should be ok in another week), one hob and one jill in the box. Working further up the ghyll, where the slopes are not as steep. (saving the steep stuff when i'm on my own, this is not too bad for the old chap!) Dog got plenty of runs in today, ranging from long runs with the rabbits taking the piss. To the easiest pick u
  5. Cracking day out Micky by the looks of things. Wish I would have had no digging today! Your old man looks quite a bit younger than mine, they carry less and less as time goes on!
  6. Watching the pennies at the moment mate, may get one if the work turns out good over the summer. Even a quad cannot get up and down these bits, don't think the old chap will ever work the slopes again to be honest! You want one of them mountain rescue caterpillar track trucks. They would glide up that hill... Either that or a young reprobate from Cornwall to carry them up for me! Think the young reprobate would eat less, cost less to keep, and cause you less problems after it was trained properly, and be quite nimble on the slopes. Just got to make a digger out of him t
  7. It's been years since I have seen as much snow up there Andy, usually like today, it's gone in no time, but this year has been different, it was laying for 3 weeks before xmas, sick of it to be honest, so are the rabbits!

  10. Took another ride out today on my own (Liking the peace and quiet) with the terrier and 2 of this years poley hobs. (The black assassin and his brother the brown assassin.) Was confronted with the usual bleedin white stuff again! Not ideal when you want to work the ghyll sides. Probably a bit dangerous to start with, getting down without a big slip took some doing, but once at the bottom, it was clear from the white stuff, so me and the russel got on with the job! This piccie is for Paddy, he loves to see my dogs sat on there arse looking at nets! Dog was a
  11. I'll only put more than one down if they are getting the run around. (It does not happen that often.) You cannot dig in three places at once. If it takes a stack of ferrets, rather than 2 or 3 at the most on the biggest of warrens, I'd be wondering about the ability of my ferrets.
  12. You forgot 1. Build some bloody big churches, with massive spires, and ring the bells loudly on a sunday!
  13. Can you borrow a locater as well JPT? It may be a help if you get a helping hand to show you the ropes.
  14. Got to be better than wedged in a carry box all day. I have 2 large boxes just to keep in the vehicle to hold them. I'll only take 4 ferrets every time I go out, and try to work 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon if it's not to far away from the truck to pick up reinforcements!
  15. Yep good hunting and have great day.
  16. I have cages with mesh runs on the outside, They do all there sheets out in the corner of the mesh runs, it's very easy to swill out with the hose pipe daily.
  17. Cracking looking pup. It's starting to get the look!
  18. Keep looking for the ferret, it'll turn up yet! Probs thinning out the rabbits for the farmer!
  19. All look in great order! A credit to you.
  20. I think a lot of people would not have a bad opinion on hunting if they had witnessed it first hand, and the respect most hunters have for the animals they hunt. Had a few discussions in the past with people who are against hunting for no reason. Some have even listened when I have told them we are basically just bystanders who appreciate watching nature at work, nothing more natural than watching a dog hunt or a ferret do exactly what it's smaller cousins (stoats) do. (We don't teach them to do it, just give them the opportunity, and encourage it.) The best one is asking them what they
  21. Good day out Micky lad. And don't be telling me there's no rabbits up there!
  22. Me ferts are tinternet superstars!!They know when the camera's on them I'll keep at it but i'm between a rock & a hard place at the moment B ...myxi's decimated one quarry & it's doing it's wicked thing up on the burn at the mo . With me being out of work since the end of October i've been doing it twice a week along with the other lads who get up there so it's had a hammering You'll be back into some work soon mate. Think I might have had a breakthrough today myself. Think the rabbits are pleased!
  23. Nice one Andy mate. Looks like it could be a tough dig! How do you get your ferrets to stay in the box looking out for a photo? I'm sure you must tie them in by their tails! Keep at em!
  24. Yep was a good day Brimmer and no its not the 3200 acres still no decision on that Looks like you lads are going to be busy! Get at em!
  25. I have managed it in the past, but more luck than judgement. I'm numb as a terrier when it comes to pc's! I opened a photobucket account around a year ago though, this was free and real usefull for putting piccies up. (You can do allsorts to a piccie in there!)
