  1. I'd wager there be far more lurcher owners hunting out of season than owners of pures, but that's down too the individual not the dog, ran my last hares Sunday , weren't you lads out? Sure I read you had your greyhound out? Might be wrong like
  2. One trick pony my erse there's the traditional single handed remote control, they make a very tidy draft excluder as well and now jaeb finds out they good for wiping u arse on there's three tricks on one thread things looking up for the humble saluki eh
  3. One trick ponies? That's largely down to who owns them if they only out once or twice a week when the owner fancies a run on hare then that's what your going too end up with but raised right they usually learn too hunt for themselves and can and will catch allsorts with very little direction at the end of the day take away the breed they still a hunting bred dog with set of legs n lungs The problem with the one trick pony types is they get bored the owner fails to fulfil the dogs desire to hunt and chase and the dog becomes bored amd withdrawn its short signted to write the breed off coz
  4. sorry to inform you but .one trick poneys they definatly are NOT!! most of the time the faults are with the owners becouse they havnt a fkn clue how to deal with them let me guess you OWN one what a surprise lol Then he better placed to comment than those that don't own one is he not?

  10. It's staffys or any dog that basicaly looks well hard mine likes too posture at lol he also loathes really small dogs that can get underneath him lol he well behaved but has his days now and again they nasty sneaky fighters saluki IMHO nasty bite as well
  11. They gain more far more confidence far quicker when they can run flat out turn properly etc the quicker they out the nest and on the ground learning the quicker tney gain confidence IMHO once they can run like the wind they soon learn at worst on any situation tney can run away fast and be safe another observation pups progress far quicker and easier if out and about with older dogs by this I mean they learn to respond to what you want recall jumping flushing playing chasing its all good far better than one man rearing the pup alone
  12. Saluki a very human astute dig IMHO they seem too read people very quickly they seek to avoid those whom they won't get along with ive hares it said they one man dogs but that's not at all true my dog has many people he favours not all direct family either when I worked away he done things like get up m check around evey room in house before me missis went too bed sounds mad but it true I think personaly it comes from being w very old breed of dog that once it leaves the litter tends too spend its time In the company of one man by this I mean centuries back in coo lands they even allowed

  17. if a dogs done well then it deserves praise imho regardless weather it English Welsh Irish of Scottish, the dog has no idea where it comes from, them Irish dogs love seeing miles of flat open land with no fences just as much as any coursing dog that don't run open everytime they out, credit too them nd the owners when they kill there , sad people feel the need too bitch about it coursing about testing enjoying craic not jealousy crabbing etc why spoil summat that's so good, cant see how men who put so much into there own dogs could crab others knowing what they put into it themselves and the sa
  18. it happens they all miss been some very good hares this year, likely the owner had already had enough of this particular match and realised it was not going to be a great days sport by a long shot , who knows only he can say, I know he a genuine sportsman who lives and breaths coursing and his dogs, he as affir as they come and would not of expected to be treated like this , but that's for him too say not me, all I know is that 100% he would not graft work or play anyone or their dog who he runs against , if you lucky enough to beat his dogs he would shake your hand pay you if needed then lik
  19. true whats done is done, ler n move on best way, money match tactics should not be fetched into the comps , set of rules need to be stuck too or all hell breaks loose, ran in one comp this year had no chew at all wnet out lost went home serious the comp went smooth cant mind any arguing bitching or meihter at all just keen lads getting out and running the dogs against what they drew , its about hving craic n bit sport test dogs show em off , sadly if it all becomes ego n bitching snide tricks it will cease to happen, its a dog racing a hare to be fair, not man against man or even dog against
  20. regarding the match one lad played the other simples like to or not, he worked grafted played a 'mate' snide thing too do imho, he wont match Tilly on land of Tilly choice? why not? simple cos some people you cant or daren't graft theres rules to comps that should not allow this sort of situation too happen, otherwise anyone matching who is loosing only has too walk all day turn every hare down and he don't win but more importantly he don't loose, but it makes for crap pointless match and people soon stop doing it, why take the associated risks so fook if bully lost a match would it r
  21. last thing cause thread not about saluki even if nero really hits the notes to the coursing bitches he gone too I wont put him to open stud ever cause you simply end up lining rubbish and all the crabbing starts I've enjoyed the dog too much for that, plus the rescue kennels don't need me contributing 1000 more unwanted dogs
