I honestly believe if you haven't got good bitches you've ain't got nothing, breeding for good dogs only will eventually lead you nowhere and has been the downfall of many a good line of both terriers and lurchers. Any serious dogmen I've known thought more of a good bitch than a good dog.

Thats mainly because there's more men that race greyhounds than breed and buy in saplings and as dogs do better on the track the dogs cost more.

Lurcher men have been lurcher men's biggest enemy for a very long time. A friend showed me stuff recently that was posted on a group on facebook and it was a disgrace.

It's all but over for average lurcher owners, sure there'll be the die hards that will carry on regardless but normal lads that made up the majority are getting out of the game for one reason or another and there's very little younguns coming into it and who could blame them, in my local area there would of been at least 10 lads that kept lurchers some also kept terriers but now it's me and a mate and what we have now will be our last. Times are changing and not for the better when you can get locked up for coursing a hare but walk free for having 4000 indecent pictures of kids.. The whol

No doubt but for me I wanted to know exactly what I had, I could of probably had better dogs if there had of been a dash of something else in them and I was definitely breed blind but it's just how I was.

I liked my wheaten xs to have nothing else in the mix as well, same for bull xs, I'm not knocking anyone else's dogs because I've seen a few outstanding animals with both in them it was just my preference.
