For dead baiting mate I just use my 3lb TC carp rods, do the job mate. I have also heard good reports about these;Greys Prodigy Dead Bait 12ft 3lbs.

I haven't been out since before christmas but the past few times I was out last year all my fish came off Smelt, I only had one other run on a different bait which was Mackerel, lost that fish too.

That would apply to both day and night fishing then, it dosent take long for a pike to become deep hooked. I always sit right next to my rods watching the drop off indicators for any hints of action. I guess the problem would be solved by using the electronic drop back indicators i dont think they stop buzzing until you reset them Joe You're right mate they don't stop untill they are reset

its nothing like it use to be i dont know why could be pollution etc but i have had some hugebags of bream and tench over the years but its a lot harder now to get ton plus bags the anglers are not coming here like they were a few years ago Seems to be happening quite a lot of places lately mate?? starnge isn't it Macca..
