This does not apply in Scotland. The SSPCA were granted considerable powers under the Animal welfare act. You can find all the details by searching SSPCA Powers on line. They have the same powers as the police. But they must inform you beforehand that they intend to pay you a visit, unless by doing so that will frustrate the purpose of getting the warrant in the first place.
