at that age it shouldnt be anti tamper as for the barrel you will need to get an adapter with a unf thread for the silencer atb cheers mate, ive had my gun serviced at my local gun shop, do you think they would have fitted an anti tamper valve when they serviced it?

Hi there me n my mate have just started to get into decoying, we have a fair bit of the kit, nets, poles, deeks etc, we were out towards the end of last year, had a few good 60+ bags using a 12 bore, recently we have been using a silenced .410 3rnd pump, i recon it is more of a squirel gun or rabbit gun tho. Does any one have any tips for deek patterns, and where to put them in relation to flight lines etc Cheers Rusty G

I got my s410 a fair few years ago (al least 4 or 5) second hand, how do i tell if it has that anti tamper thingy on it? i would take the stock of my gun n take a pic but i broke my camera fone, so sorry no pictures im afraid. Also can i put any silencer on it or do i have to get the barrel threaded or an adapter or some shit? Cheers Rusty G

I charge from a pump that i dont think has a moisture filter, does this mean it is more likely to corode the air tube? Not that i am askin for advice of course because you know absolutly nothin about the subject in hand

ive had about 4 or 5 this year, got one the other day in my back garden, didnt even see his mate till he jetted. Does anyone know why its iligal to bait them in with shiney things?

i do a bit of night ferreting, and i find it useful to carry one of those little cheep blue led key ring torches, it emits a near uv light, i put a small dab of white paint on all my tools, shovel, locator etc and a little white tag on all my nets, that way when you shine the torch the white realy glows, sticks out like a sore thumb in the darkness and its easier to find everything!

i have an s410, i take it to my local gun shop for a service every few years, it costs £70 he changes all the seals etc and chronos it for 11.5. last time he put the new charging valve on it, but he didnt give me an adaptor so i had to shell out a score for that DIY servicing is ok for seals n that, but i would recomend gettin the air tube tested every few years or so

Nice shootin mate! I havnt got that many rabbits in one session for a while now. We got the same thing with bullocks on one of our permissions, it can be quite good walking round in the heard, they make so much noise, you can just wander round shootin all the crows n magpies n that that eat all the insects of the cow pats!
-
silent, cheap and no licences required! and you can shoot in buildings etc without risking puttin holes in everythin!
-
permission is the hardest part mate, n age is against you, all i can say is dont give up, keep trying all your local farms/golf clubs/cricket clubs etc, there are plenty of permission letters on here, when it comes to kit, a decent knife, some camo, either real tree or DPM which is a lot cheaper! a water bottle and a bag to put it all in, there is no point spendin a fortune on kit, only to get bored of hunting 6 months down the line! oh yeah, finaly practice practice practice, shootin at targets is boring, but you need to practice alot to get the confidence that your pellet is going to hit exa

this may sound stupid, but do you recon shiney bits of foil would work? they are suposed to be atracted to shiney things, so get a dead tree rat, n put a bit of bling on it and you should be laughing

hw90 or 95, get the k if you want a carbine, they are incredibly well built, my mate has had his hw90 for a good 10-12 years, never seen the inside of a gunsmiths in its life and it still shoots like a dream! if you are shooting inside barns have you considered a rat catcher (i know you dont want a pcp, but its easier to change a co2 cylender than it is to use a styrup pump!) they are cheep and efective at close range Rusty G

No sweat Sean, Sorry if I came across as 'argumentitive' Although I am a 'relative Newbie' to this forum I do like to be as factual as I can be when I post advice. I have been shooting on and off for 30'ish years and although I became interested in Hunting a year or so back, I have only just started out in hunting. This is because I was absoulutely adament that before I let a round loose at an aminal; I had to have honed my shooting skills so that when I hit an animal I want it to be 'Lights out' instantly and suffer as absolutely little as possible (as all good hunters do). I love poles, they are such hard workers, and the women are usualy stunning!

used to use AA fields but now i use power pells (i think thats wat they are called) they make a well stisfying thud when they hit flesh!
-
i recon either a falcon light hunter or a bsa ultra mate, ive fired my mates ultra a few times and i am well impressed with the power and acuracy for its size

Put it down, what if it got out and got hold of a kid or somethin

my dad had a .177 s200, the air chamber on it was removable, so u didnt have to take the whole gun to the shop to get it refilled, which was pretty cool. he also got the 10 shot upgrade for it, it was a quality gun. Realy comfortable to shoot like
