  1. i wouldnt be taking no strangers on my permission as i trust no one now thats why i only take my sons, our lass or one close friend that goes out on here.be careful mate
  2. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE GENTLE YOU HAVE GOT TO GET HOLD OF IT WITH BOTH HANDS MASSAGE IT REAL WELL THEN START TUGGING AND STRETCHING NOT TOO ROUGH AND THEN ROLL IT BACK AND FORTH (WITH THE ROLLING PIN) THEN JUST BEFORE IT GETS TOO STICKY GIVE IT A LAST STRETCH AND SQUEEZE THEN PUT IT INTO A BAKING TIN AND COOK TILL NICE AND BROWN LURCHERS LASS
  3. Top end speed should not be too much of an issue since most of the fields are not excessively big....and I don't have many hares where I am, mostly rabbits. Couple more questions: 1. Seems like (from reading other pposts) the limititing factor is getting a good working Beddy sire the litter. Is this a big problem and you run the risk of getting a pup which will not be very game? 2. Much of my rabbit hunting is done in the winter....that means frozen ground and snow. Can these dogs run reliably in this type of environment, or is it too hard on their body (slipping, hard on feet,
  4. its that bad if you got your lass to wear some camo gear and to walk across the fields with the terriers even if they are pets she will end up with the police waiting for her.its these do gooders when they drive past and see anybody with terriers they are going badger baiting, never mind a walk or just rabbits in the do gooders eyes you are going baiting
  5. get writing pete. it is right what you say about dave. people belive what they read alrite big fella hows ya new job
  6. the good thing with borders, they adapt to any lifestyle hardly ale any vet problems and they are like a all purpose terrier above and below and with the gun as a retreiver
  7. ive had both mate and you cant nock either they have a heart of a lion at the minute im on with a 1stx beddie/greyhound but the only thing they lack is that bit of speed on top end so in 2yrs time in putting my mates whippetxgreyhound onto it so the pair will be working together and i will get more stuff
  8. if you canget hold of the cat mate, get the flea stuff called spot on for dogs and put it on the cat you will never see that cat again.and the dog one does work on cats with out a dout
  9. i think thats why alot of people dont use borders as they read to many book to see whats in at the moment the way i look at it.the 1st borders i seen was when i was 9yrs old and i thought what a smart pair of terriers they were and they have stuck with me ever since lads not because of books.there was a good man from wales called geff fellorony who had good borders in and they were hard and it was a breed he liked,i think if you like the breed you should try it not go on what people say or write about.i dont mean this in a nasty way its just my opinion

  15. the only ive decided to breed my own this time is so i no what ive got as ther is alot of people saying the pups is this crossed with that then you find out off someone else what the true breeding is as ive seen this happen a few times so thats the only reason ive gone for what ive got
  16. i,ll tellyou why rolly, far too many dicks, set on breeding crap, i love me borders, they can take their time comiing on and a lot of lads these days dont have the patience . fortunately there are the chosen few who keep and work the little otter heads, and long mat they reign. ya right in what you are saying mate.but i dont think they are late starters its just whats drumbed into folk about the breed so they wont let them see out until they are 2yrs old
  17. im sure you had that up for sale a few months ago as i was going to ring about it
  18. i will be breeding off my beddiexgreyhound bitch in 2-3yrs time this will be the 2nd litter of lurchers i would of bred in 30yrs and she is only here to fill the freezer for my hawks as im not to bothered about the big game as much.so she will be working with the ferrets and lamping and when i get a pup from her they will both be working together.ive never been into dogs for money as i have gave 3 pups away from here to friends but if its people i dont no they will be paying for them every body is different
