Still looking for a stud to pup my bitch up with. deerhound x greyhound or with a little saluki blood would be my ideal type.

Where you from mate? Any pics.thanks for replying

I looking for a dog of saluki/deerhound breeding to put over my bitch in a month or so. I have been giving it some thought for a while and not ever rushed into anything because I will be breeding for myself, family and friends. my bitch fly has proven herself to me over the years so a dog of proven alround ability will only be considerd with plenty of stamina for daytime flushing and excellent feet. regards rew

Cheers Bosun, it was a cracking day out. cheerrs

Went ferreting today with my two polcat ferrets, nine nets and a stop net. Decided to go out by myself before work in the evening for a change.left dog to rest for friday coming. Managed to catch ten in my well placed nets, ferrets worked ever so well as normal and we missed only 3 rabbs in the 4 hours ferreting.the 5 miles ride back along bridleways was harder than I thought but worth all the effort. Three rabbits with young inside, first for me this year. Good hunting Rew

Went ferreting yesterday with two Jill ferrets and the lurch , I found a purse net had been left on the first warren .This is the fourth net we have found this season already .Though they might have left a net they had cleared all wsrrends , not a rabbit in sight. The last warren did produce 1healthy bunny but only one ferret emurged .I waited a good 2 hours in the freezing Cold but still ferret.Due to it getting dark I left the rabbit down the hole attached to a purse net send road home pretty pissed. Well I left really early this Morning and thank god as I began pulling the rabbit back ou

I can cycle without puttting a lead on fly and she will stop at roads with a wait command, but early last year i was cycling really fast with fly at my side running along .Then all of a sudden a car pulls out ,fly skips around the car and i go over the bonnet .I was lucky not to be hurt but the car took some damage .I did learn from that mistake and shall not be goin so fast again on the busier roads. Im going to build my dog up ready for a 25 mile run in a months time.will let you know how we do.

lmao i saw them in ibiza ... funny thing was the lads doing all the cycling where skinny as me ,,after a summer i bet they are hench lmao i would like to cycle a big one with the dog averaging so many miles a day.Would be a good documentary ? rew

I agree with you night hunter aswell ,she does get to oppertunity to free run but im conditioning her again after a slight foot injury. But to get out further to see more game it would be easier for me to cycle somewhere with her than walk there Thats not a bad idea tomo lol stick the game in their on my way back lmao. Using a hi vis is a great idea and lights ,i did wonder if you can trot them on the roads ,especially when their aint a path ..i know if you where seen by the police using these saftey precautions they would be less likely to pull you .

Sounds like im being to lenient with my own dog lol thanks for your replies though , i will try a 8 miler tongiht. She is getting really fit though now , i wonder how this would improve their endurance especially for them long daytime runs.

Our season so far : Sept 11th Went lamping me, nottzhunter and new dog gyp , it was fly's first night this season aswell and caught 5 rabbits - gyp didnt catch nor get a run as we were after a nice squatter for him, Fly made good catches ..top night out. SECOND NIGHT OUT second night with nottzhunter and his dog whippet gyp and i was running fly once again.Gyp caught 3 but dropped one and fly caught 5 but to dropped one and cut toe open. THEN WE WENT FERRETING We drove out and went on permission , nottzhunter brought gyp whos pretty large for a whippet at 21"tts .His first ti -
I cycle everywhere now ,furthest i have biked has been 15 mile away and i can carry 10 rabbits on the bike rack comfortabley but anymore then i have to put them in the rucksack. The use of the bike has been a great and probabley a better way to get the dog fit too, cover the same distance in half the time and get some lamping done inbetween.Rabbits dont seem to scare away like if they hear footsteps either. I like to use any net i can get hold of , i like the traditional net for the nostalgic reasons mainly but they do suit me when i go alone. cheers rew
