  1. Seen my cousins grey dog still working well in to it's 9th season, it would take all game day or night but as it got on a bit it started to not run on plough
  2. Too true and it's normally a big vet bill afterwards
  3. Agree with Poacher, got 2 bitches here, a young english bred bitch that done her wrist in so ain't had a chance to do much with her, the old irish bred bitch was a demon on all things red and the hares. All the best with yours mate
  4. It might turn out to be a day then the night out yet as I'm thinking of getting another runner or 2 , a decent night seems to wreck the 7 year old bitch now {but she was a sprinter not a stayer like my young bitch} I think 1 litter out of her then full time retirement as she deserves it. Keep in touch pal
  5. The local foot soldiers do it here in the north east as well Hedge Hunter. Johnnyboy see if you can live trap it mate I could do with a new hunter due to injuries
  6. Smart little pup that mate, my young bitch done her wrist again on a horrible rabbit run . Just seems to affect her the odd time so will be looking forward to that meet up soon to see the dogs properly
  7. I knew you had 1 mate, my pals died after a accident out in the field so I didn't line my english bred grey bitch, although he offered me a use of his bull/grey. I'm not sure if he brought his over with him from ireland and when he first told me he had that cross I couldn't wait to see it on. From what I seen it was a decent dog that knew the game, so I told him I'd get a bitch to get a pup out of it but it's all part of the game. Been offered a free stud off a big money track dog if I want for my irish bred bitch but hoping to use my mates dog from norfolk on her for a decent baseline of lurc
  8. She is a cracking looking dog mate, is that the irish terrier/deerhound cross?
  9. Definetly mate just need to get rid of the pregnant bear bitch first
  10. You keep telling yourself that Moll!! similar to me, every time I'm out with the dog and see a girls guide camp my trousers seem to falls down and I stumble towards them as if running! it's the other way round for me Rob the lasses chase me with their pants down, the only grass me and my dogs see now is in the garden, bitch has got the ball and chain on me
  11. Ain't heard that name for a while and they are my local lads, a family member on lurchermania 1 won a prize for the best pup but got rid of the pup before the competition finished as he didn't like how she ran
  12. Good luck in your search Calvin, all I can really say is keep door knocking on the farmers and hopefully some land will come your way soon
  13. For me it would be the bottom ones but I have a soft spot for brindles
  14. A couple of my mates fish them, I haven't had a chance to yet though mate, might organise a weekend down there with the rods and dogs if you fancy it?
  15. They are looking good Lawrence , it's taking me 3 years to find a decent bitch worth getting a pup out of beginning of next year, if I do decide to get 1 as I might have a running dog litter coming up
  16. Yes A.A mate same bitch , can't remember which track she got registered at so have to see my mate
  17. Long time no hear, have ya been getting out. Had a few trips out but my 2 year old bitch knocked her ankle again, she is coming in heat so lining her with my mates dog and keeping a pup or 2 back off her . Then semi-retirement for her with the old bitch in the house . Start of the season and I've got 2 semi-retired grey bitches so might get a dog or 2 back from a loan I did
  18. Smart little pups on here , Rob mate I'm breeding 1 of my bitches in a week or so so I'll keep you informed even if I keep disappearing
  19. Just local track and coursing dogs , Cheers Old Timer bit odd that-do you know which ones-English coursing lines are practically extinct-Probably less than 4 or 5 dogs still alive off them lines..Shame really generation after generation of waterloo cup winners all gone for nothing and allowed to die out..There was a bitch running at peterborough that i was trying to aquire but had no luck contacting her owner. I just meant working blood, not coursing although they were used on hares preban T.T
