  1. Bring it on Jasper, great stuff.
  2. I would recommend fucidrem for a wide range of skin complaints, always best to ask a vet first.

    begining

The best advice is to read some books, then some more books, Hawking and Falconry for Beginners by Adrian Hallgarth Falconry and Hawking by Phillip Glasier Falconry Art and Practice by Emma Ford, are pretty good in my opinion Join a club and get out hunting with local lads, have a looking at The British Falconry Club web site theres good advice for beginners on there, also www.themodernapprentice.com is a good American site.

It's probably best that you buy a book that will suggest layouts and dimensions, maybe one by Emma Ford or Phillip Glasier. Here's pic's of my avairy/chamber/weighing room/weathering. 26' x 10' the chamber itself is 10' x 10', the rest is the weighing room. The chamber has a solid roof and a barred front window, there is 3 perches, 1 behind the front window, 1 on the back wall same height as the window perch, and one high level corner perch. Theres pea gravel on the floor with a bath and a log.
  5. BlueRoo, that is one excellent looking knife.
  6. Get in Sean, hows the holiday plans coming on?
  7. I think there was a good population of hares up until a few years ago, but I've not seen one in four years. Nothing wrong with that hat Sean would you perfer a green one?

    IS THIS REAL?

That last ones gotta be real. Check out the beak on this mother.
  12. No, up on the north coast, might be able to see Orkney in the background.
  13. Took this pic whilst out today, not much wildlife except for the sheep.
  14. Here's another from today, despite his weight being high.
  15. That snake wood looks nice, look forward to seeing the sheath
  16. Try it in peanut butter, just like chicken satay.
  17. Out on my new permission today, got 2 rabbits, but had flights on pheasant, duck, woodcock, and crows. Things are looking up, fed him up on the last rabbit, he'll be a fat as a house for a few days.
  18. Finally got to use the knife for what it was made for.
  19. I've seen one case of mixy this season. 2 of my permissions have almost zero rabbits compared to last year, it can only be foxes and buzzards. Luckily I have other permission where the rabbits are doing well but generally I think numbers are down.

    couple of pics

    Excellent pics mate.
  21. Didn't get the rabbit he was to deep and the bird was to tight in the hole. Would have been his first on the lamp.
  22. I just use an oil stone it gives a good enough edge for me.
  23. Just to repeat what Sean said, use telemetry. I just got back from my 4th outing lamping, still struggling to catch anything. He's been hitting the rabbits but not holding until tonight, after a flight of about 100m he hit a rabbit hard they both spun up 4 feet into the air, he then went for the rodeo ride of his life. By the time I got there they'd both disapeared, so out with the telemetry, it was pitch black, I'm a mile from the nearest road and my truck, thank feck I got a signal. After 5 minutes of searching with the telemetry and lamp I spot the tips of his wings a foot down a rabbit hol
  24. Nice work duckwing, that sheath well cool mate, talk us through it.
  25. Just go for one of the kits, mine is the scandi kit and theres a wittler which is a slightly longer blade plus a few others. All you need then is tools, aradite, sand paper and danish oil.
