  1. Your not hanging about Sean, I've got to take about 4oz off him yet.
  2. Took the bird up from the avairy yesterday moult over, he's weighing 1lb 10 1/2oz his normal hunting weight is 1lb 5oz. Thanks to Thurso Jack for casting the bird while I changed the equipment, I'll never slag your small dog again.
  3. A mate of mine has an EEO it took him 2 years of training to get it take a rabbit, when it eventually did he couldn't get the bugger off it, got footed twice and didn't have a first aid kit. He gave up trying after that, sitting in a field for 3 hours bleeding with a moody EEO was no fun apparently.
  4. Looking forward to your next adventure.

    my new bird

Tidy couple of birds mate, what age is the FHH?
  6. I've been told GWP has a calmer nature, had the GSP out with me this morning whilst picking up some wires, she was working really nicely, unfortunatly she was about 500m away, luckily her recall is perfect.
  7. I was thinking exactly the same thing, I use this quite alot with the rabbit snares. Do you think you'll get the first one stuffed.
  8. It can only be a matter of time, this thread is killing me, come on ditch shitter we'll with you on this one. :clapping:
  9. I bought a GSP bitch last year for falconry this season but at 14 months she's obedient but no way is she steady enough, she is from excellent working lines I'll have to leave her till next year when she matures. In retrospect I wish I'd gone for a GWP. I'm sure eventually she'll be fine. I recommend you get a copy of The Versatile Gundog, training HPRs for Gun, Rifle and Hawk, by Guy Wallace I found it very useful. Here's a pic of her at 7 months back in Jan this year. One other problem shes just reminded me, she is really gobby. Remember two things ruin dogs.............women and kids. Go
  10. Never found a mink yet, keeping finding rabbits and foxes, even a pine martin once. Hope you find one soon.
  11. I was out mooching with Thurso Jack early this morning and came across this dog fox, cheers Woodga for your advice.
  12. I get mine lamb flank or breast, its more like cartlidge than bone.
  13. That must be a proud moment, do many buyers stay in touch and let you their bird's getting on? I quite often e-mail the breeder of my bird with stories of flights and kills. I love this time of year, I'm just itching to get the bird out of the avairy.
  14. Nice work Sean, have you picked the bird up yet?
  15. My pup had one dropped at 6 months, the other one followed 2 or 3 weeks later.
  16. At least I need a terrier box, where as you could use a couple of tiny match boxes.
  17. Nice work mate, theres got to be a market for those, get them on ebay.

The pic on the first post looks dangerous, the drawing looks better. Derry's trolley systems originates in Germany, it would worth searching a few German falconry sites. It would be good to get Derry on here, he would be a great asset to the forum, heres a pic of his trolley system, sorry its small I nicked it off his site  I'm sure he'd e-mail pic's if you asked him.
  21. I'm not going to disagree with that because its true, I know I've been Walthams and they have spent millions, but up until 3months ago I was spending £36 every 3 weeks on a 15kg bag of James Wellbeloved, which is excellent food. Then I read a few threads on here and smoochers and decided to give it ago, It now costs me £4.20 a week, I know exactly what they're getting and my dogs are in the best condition ever.
  22. Mate I've got a 13 month GSP bitch that does the same, I was hoping she'd grow out of it. Luckily she quiet in the field.
  23. I give cod liver oil every day and a raw egg once a week, I think its the egg that put the shine on the dog, the coat just seems to come up the next day, don't know why.
  24. Thats good news mate, I'm convinced that was a grass seed going in between his pads and working its way. Glad its sorted.
  25. Me thinks a visit to the vet is needed, especially if it's happened whilst at a kennels.
