  2. try a few local blacksmiths. they could do with the work. may be a bit dearer. but quality will be better.
  3. we dont hunt wolves anymore. how big a dog do you need to kill a piddley little fox werighing in at around 16 pounds ffs. ive seen some monsters bred for fox work. you dont need extremes there is middle ground
  4. i'm sure mr darcy has gathered a fair bit of experience along the way. his photo's are very good also . i dont think experience is the main criteria as a writer. the ability to put a little experience in writeing in an interesting/entertaining manner.will be better than a wealth of knowledge dribbled out in a boreing way. my teacher comes to mind could put me to sleep n jig time  . hats off to everyone who tries and doe's what most of us would like to do
  5. skycat is one of the few who write books / articles. yet still try to contribute on these forums. hope she continues. as her knowledge is invaluable. and she is a credit to the lurcher world. so to all you fowl mouth whingers. get out and do stuff that will benefit your chosen breeds and put them in a better light i buy the cmw. occasionally if i see it on a bookshelf.

  11. Wondered who'd be the first to say that Look at my requirements LOL I had the chance of the use of one (eos 350) for a few weeks last year. It scared the shit out of me Cheers, D. ive one here you can have for that and i will give you two lenses with it. they are easier to use than a bridge or compact. with a full auto.(idiot ) mode. thats what i mostly use . and loads of modes you would see on a bridge/compact. trust me you should get one
  12. the other thing that you have to consider is the set of the shoulders. some terriers shoulders are set back a little . sitting out on the ribcage. this type generally have a rounder (barrel) chest. one of my old russells was like this. she got away with this as she was under twelve inch and compact. so looked small and got to most foxes. it was only when i got my old parson Trusty a narrow built terrier with an altogether different frame standing at fifteen inch. and he was getting through some bits that the little tank couldnt that i realized that you cant judge a book by the cover. having s

  14. my foxes came back. havnt seen the vixen for a while . she came last week with a dead cub and walked about the close all night mooching. putting it down to eat then disapeared with corps . a sad sight. anyway on a happier note two cubs have been about and the wee dog fox . some snaps. camera is in for sal section by the way
  15. cover the bone with cotton wool and then soak the cotton.
  16. bollocks!!! if the terrier wants it, he will find a way. rubbish. a terrier needs to be small enough to get. and if its a terrier for fox work it needs to be a handy size. i get sick of hearing people talking nonesense sometimes. so here is the truth. a terrier for fox needs to be small. bigger terriers will get to some foxes if they dig on but if they hit hard ground roots rock etc they are stuffed. to many folk breeding terriers to big these days. they are ok for the odd day out with no pressure but it aint doing the breed any favours. why are folk breeding and bigging up o
