  1. A great loss ... shows how fragile life really is folks... A true sporting lad http://www.homesoffootball.co.uk/blog/2008...walton-just-17/ may he rest in peace...
  2. Was wondering alrite as iv seen irish lurchers dogs a few times here and it was neither of these two.... Good going anyway who ever it was.... Go easy anyway lads... at the end of the day hes from waterford.. what do ye expect....
  3. She ran well trev.. must have a fair staying if shes only 59-60lb wt and 1113 .. im guessing she ran wide in the last bend? had that with an one i had he used run on the very edge grass mostly .. first ever race he came 1112.. gutted got piped by a head... she must be a fast traper... keep me updated on this one trev ... fingers crossed she will win all round her... And the dog above he must be good one well any dog doing 28.50s has no shortage of speed and stay...
  4. very true. why geta pup if you have too many dogs on anyway?? Might be wrong here.. but it seems as if hes bred the bitch and kept two pups left... now the bitch is for sale as he wants too put time into the two 6mth old pups and does not have time for this "good all round bitch" ...
  5. Swag they wont go too sleep till theres a photo bud...lash one up
  6. The dogs a 100% ferret dog after that..
  7. If your serious about working your terrier ... stop all this shit in here get onto bryan off here order a locator and f**k off out the feilds with your terrier a diging bar and a shovel and find a handy earth on with the collar in with the dog locate him to a point where its settled .. push the bar down through the ground where the lowest reading on the box sets.. and keep doing to till you feel its into the tube. then you can easily hear the action... dig away till you start to open then do the rest by hand lift the dog out and let the fox off... unless you want to leave the staff in to see i
  8. id stick to what you have mate they are fine lookin hounds id say they wood push a fox out a lot quicker than either springer or terrier crosses in my opinion cheers kev. they can push foxes alright but where they are lacking is in marking. they do mark sometimes but not 100% and not as strongly as some packs will but that will come i think. well whitser iv had 2 springer beagles in with a pack of foots they used open very well and mark up with the foots.. i think your pack might just lack that one or two dogs strongly marking to get them all marking... puting the springer acc
  9. Its all part of the game bud...keep at it anyway fella..
  10. Looks a strong healthy pup that... hope he makes grade for you
  11. Risking the dog never comes into it... as this thread is not about how to get dogs going..but about what dogs to use.. now iv seen a black track bitch she was stupidly fast now i say this as she used hit every f*****g fence in the feild.. but used screw foxes and stay locked to them till to took her off...now she had heart and speed and fine size... she would have showen a few coursing dogs how to go.. A Also id agree the track men dont give there dogs foxes but livers... the coursing men dont usually do it either only if the dogs hearts not in it in a drive to get them going again...
  12. Well contryboyo what experience have you had with the greyhounds? what your saying is correct coursing dogs ar alot harder...i was at a coursing meeting (enclosed) a few weeks back 3 dogs one after the other ran up the slip and snaped there legs on the first turn of the hare.. one matt hyland bitch snaped her leg and kept coursing even with the bone clean out through the skin.. now thats heart.. The other 2 dogs fine big black dogs both with track breeding ran up broke there legs in the same point but just stood there roaring... The stamina is not somthing id look for in a greyhoun
  13. Coursing dog more stamina? doubt that. Extra strength yes. most coursing greys will take fox with ease but some track dogs struggle. well believe it how many track greys can run four hundred yards+ 5 times and still walk home track greys would blow up after two runs where cousing dogs have to do it to win i have both types so i have a feeling of both types track dogs are bred to run round in circles coursing dogs are bred for the hunt imo I used keep them for years but not anymore... A track greyhound is a fare more game dog.. as they will run after a fake hare and in some sch
