  1. Oh well. I think i dropped a fifty note as well so if you see one of them itl be mine
  2. Seems to be a common thing lately . Everytime i go out the foxes stay in ! Maybe im wearing the wrong aftershave ?
  3. Beretta 12 bore o/u with double triggers and fixed chokes. Nice gun, well kept with clean barrels etc. Selling due to the fact that I only need one 12 bore and i could do with the extra space that it is taking up. Face to face only and your welcome to try before you buy. Offers around £ 350 please.
  4. Ive had same problem. Been back to deben, they said it was fine, took it out didnt work !! It works fine, then all of a sudden will just stop. Other two collars work fine. Not impressed with their aftersales.
  5. Why not try a multi shot instead of single.
  6. It just depends on how far you need to scan the rabbits at, ( not shoot them ) as if youve got a large field, the red filter on a tracer max will put eyes up a good distance away so you can head over to get the shot. If your only scanning for rabbits out to say 100 yards then yes, a smaller one will do fine. Bear in mind that a cheap scope may cause difficulty in getting a clear shot with a low powered lamp, whereas a quality scope, maybe with a larger lens will give a much clearer sight picture, with the same lamp, so depending on what scope you use or are planning to buy, bear this i
  7. For out on the fields something like a tracer max (400 m) beam will be fine. Dont forget that when you put the filter on, it reduces light even further. Maybe a compromise would be something like the tracer mini ( 250 m beam ). I used to use a logun lamp on my airgun and that was a 100 beam. Sometimes this wasnt quite enough. Ideally having a small lamp for around farmyards etc and then a bigger lamp for the fields would be the best way to go if you can stretch to it, but id go for more, rather than less. Just quickly edited to say that lazer dot sights can be usefull, but id suggest
  8. Lovely accurate smooth guns with great triggers. A tad heavy, ( as are most quality springers ) and not ideal for shooting out of a vehicle but very accurate and nice to shoot. I preffered my 97k over my TX200HC.
  9. NOT BAD FOR THE MONEY. I run a 4-16x56 and its never let me down so far. Not In the leauge as the higher price scopes but for rabbits on the lamp ideal.
  10. Jamie, I doubt many beginners reload ! and the .223 has a bigger range of, and more readily available ammo. I just think that the .223 will do the same as .222 and will be generally easier to run. Their ability to shoot a fox will be about equal but for a newbie as a fox caliber I would go for .223 over .222 anyday. But, as has been said both calibres have about the samepower and range so it really is a personal choice.
  11. Ian you know what they say about a bad workman
  12. you ever click on a post and click on the profile instead lol, kinda like dialling a wrong nuber !

  13. .22-250 and .223 are the most poular .22 fox calibres. Both work fine with the .22-250 giving you the extra legs if you shoot many over 300 yards. Id stay away from.222 and veer towards the .223. Also consider the others such as .204 ruger ( alove it or hate it calibre from what I have gathered ), or .243 if youve the opportunity to controll deer as well. Read up on previous posts using search button as theres loads of information already on this subject. Id avoid a rimfire for foxing as a centerfire has more chance of ensuring a clean kill if you were to misplace your shot.
  14. Its got a name Jamie. Daylight robbery I think
  15. Starts from around £7 a box of twenty for the likes of privi 55g sp and goes up to £30 a box for 20 in the federals.
  16. If youve got a.222 and you are after a .223 id just get rid of the .222 unless there is a specific reason you want to have both. You may get this on a one forone insteadof applying for a £26 variation.
  17. Nice. What twist does it come in ?
  18. Let me get this right, youve bought a new gun, fired at a fixed target for zero and then went out after live quarry on the lamp You need to get used to the calibre first, firing at targets at different ranges so you get to know bullet drop etc. Then you need to be able to guess the range of your quarry accurately to have a chance of hitting them. Get used to the trigger, the way the rifle handles. Also if using the .22 after using the likes of airguns etc, make sure you know where your backstops are and whats beyond your quarry, especially in the lamp. Practice more first, and youl
  19. Best shot that Really sticks in my mind is from around ten years ago. Myself and a couple of mates were shooting rabbits with a gun id just sold him. Hed been in and out the shop for weeks looking at it and he was busting to get out. I took along my old TX200 and had shot a couple at normal ranges. We both noticed a bunnie sat in front of a fenceline around 70 yards of. The bunny presented such a shot that meant a headshot or a miss so he got his pre-charge on it and missed. I thought id have a go. I guessed and aimed well above its head and as I fired there was a second or two silence
  20. Used to shoot one of them myself. Nice looker's ! Wasnt too impressed with the magazine feed though, hopefully youl have a good one though. You still cant beat the feel of a proper mans gun though, such as the HW or 97 etc
  21. And here's me knocking on farms and meeting farmers when all I need dois sit back in my chair and post on the forum ! all that time I wasted Sorry, couldnt resist. Get out there and you WILL get lucky one day. It may be frustrating and disheartening after hearing twenty or so "no's" but you will get a "yes" in the end. In the meantime put this post in the share a hunt section Also putting where you are from, what you shoot, your age, experience, etc would be very beneficial. If you are wanting people to maybe offer you a day out out of the kindness of the hearts ,it would help t
  22. Dont upgrade ! You can pay an extra 100 £ for half a decibel more silencing ability ? If you want a quiet rifle buy a .22 with a mod and subs, HMR is what it is, no altering that Just edited to say that value wise the sak is the best ! stick with it.
  23. Spend the extra and get something thats better for your centrefire allround, S&B, Swav, Nightforce, Zeiss, Leupold, etc .. Its worth it in the long run... The clarity on the cheaper scopes at range on the lamp, dusk/dawn, general build is not in the same league... See what I mean ( but he is right about performance )
