  3. airedale is a big dog too ,geese, yeah I can just see his face,''nah, you dont want a rottie, get some geese'' straight to the lunatic hospital he'd drag me.As I said before, bull terriers of any kind are not under consideration.the collie is the top ranking dog at the minute it seems lol

  5. I often see Malinois recommended as yard dogs but I don't agree with it TBH, these are serious working dogs that go mental without a real job to do, pacing around in a yard all day just doesn't cut it for them IMO. Collie or cattle dog would be a good fit, alert as anything, noisy and often quite likely to bite too. If he wants something that looks a bit more intimidating a EBT could do the job? Or what about a Kerry Blue? Knew a few nasty fecker Kerrys that were used as yard dogs back in the day... My old mam has a wee SBT/JRT thing as a watchdog, he may be little but he's a great ala

  7. The dobermans on the large side again,he has limited space.I found the pits/staffs etc were people friendly at best and he doesnt want bull terrier type. Now the kerry blues a one to think about for sure, the malanoi /dutch shepherd is a dog that wouldnt be suited for hanging around a yard, hed be a good man to walk the dogs and take grest care of it but I have a few mates that have them and their a liability I feel.Pure savages. The collie dogs are a consideration too.Hes built up his kennells and to be honest its an easy job to get in to his place if someone wanted to. Hes thinking of going to t
  8. was talking to a mate last night and he was interested in a dog for around the outside of his kennells,he says he hasnt the room for a big dog and asked what medium to small type dog would suit his needs ,but he'd like a dog that might be a bit intimidating,I said a presse type dog,but thinking I couldnt come up with a reliable medium sized dog that might pack a punch. He doesnt want a mental yoke, and he wont keep pits ,so just thought id throw it out there, what breed /type would have a history of producing consistent back yard dogs that would guard and be a deterrent.

  16. why would you say that? How does it sound like lloyd ''the rat'' (as you call him)had anything to do with the bitch?are you just plain nasty or you cant help getting a stab at people you dont like, before I go any further,I havent had 1 day out with lloyd, this season.in fact I never go out with him.Saying that any time Ive had dealings with him hes been more than helpfull to me,so I have no crib with lloyd or his hunting partner, nor do I have any dealings with him at all.Last time I was out with lloyd was 2 seasons ago,and it was just one or two days and I have to say his dogs are shit hot in fa

  18. Got this 12 month old bitch yesterday for as close to sweet feck all as one could, she is toally unspoilt I am told and the owners in a driving job and doing silly hours. She needs a lot of exercise to get her sorted but is in top condition,so over the summer I hope we get to know each other and see how she comes on for me.24-25 tts ,nice and big just the way I like em.
  19. well I have to eat my words, a lad on here who is a good friend of mine rang me the other day, told me of a lad whos getting rid of a 12 month old 1st x saluki hound, nothing done with her and since hes working every day and hour he can get shes been neglected so I called down liked what I saw and bought the bitch for next to nothing, fingers x'ed she'll become next seasons star lol.Im not fond of buying older dogs but this is a genuine situation and the price was feck all so worth a gamble I thought.
