    Eaten dog a few times abroad,people have always used them for food like cattle,pigs,goats etc,think Cheyenne "Dog" soldiers,polar explorers etc,dogs were kept around camps for multitudinous uses,food during hard times being one of them,when in Rome,some cultures have no stigma attached to eating dog meat.
