Spoke to a pakistani subsistence farmer/shepherd living in the Khunjerab National park who trapped a small number of snow leopard every year and sold the skins for a pittance(I bought one for $70)at Kashgar market.He was 50+ years old,but could count on the fingers of one hand the number of cats he had encountered on mountain slopes and glacial valleys(aside from the ones in his foot-hold traps)during a lifetime in the area

Visit Wanchai market,had a friend who couldnt walk through there without OD'ing on a Vics inhaler cos the place fu**ing stinks,check out the little mom & pop hardware stores,most of them stock "versions" of the Monarch,I am in China once,maybe twice a year and snide versions of the Monarch are sold everywhere

Used to use Mist nets quite a bit,had a few in the past from british field sports suppliers but they arent stocked now.Best place to get them is China,Italy,and portugal,oh,and I know a guy who bought a few from a bird fair he attended in Belgium As Ditch says,become a registered ringer and you'll get your licence Cyprus is just as good as Malta Ditch

I pick most of my mags up,brand spanking new,still in the cellopane wrappers,for 25-30 pence each.Unsold mags in the US of A are often shipped to Asia where they are sold for minimum price,I normally bring 50-100 mags back twice a year,or have the cocking mags shipped over assoon as they come off the print.
