  1. Just had a coffee in the canteen and thought about this question,I think the threads I LEARNT most from on THL are "Snaremans",he put thought and effort into them,I just hope he puts similar knowledge into book form
  2. Your right in one thing DS,some races, cultures, ethnicities have a deeper "Connection"feeling, whatever with their departed ancestors,my mother-in-law still refers to death as souls being harvested and every all-souls-eve the entire family descend upon the local cemetary, which takes on the appearance of a rave for the night as each grave is visited from dusk-to-dawn by family members eating&sleeping beside, and chatting to their departed kin The thing is,they never forget
  3. No mate, thats being saved for a special project,we are actually buying a sort of freshwater "Trawler" this weekend

  12. Anything alternative, little bit different,off-the-wall,I actually used to enjoy reading the Minshaw thread, and though I shouldnt adimt this, anything by MarkBrick is always a great read, fair enough he takes some flack, but he bounces back, you cant knock him for that
  13. The stag and the grouse arent a problem where you are TJ,neither is the salmon But with a fly is a different story
  14. Yeah,if you wouldnt mind that would be good, the only place I ever saw adders was stanhope in Weardale and even then it was only a couple,I actually like them better than grass snakes.Their markings are beautiful
  15. Got any pics of the adders simo?I am fascinated by snakes, only seen a few wild adders, mainly only grass snakes round here, lots of common lizards and slow worms.
  16. Roe,chinese and muntie are impressive,I am sure if we asked nicely you might even tell us the best place to watch chinese?I actually saw one in China but never here in the UK. You have rather lofty ambitions JOE I wonder what sort of trout you will be targetting? Aled, maybe your right, when I was a kid it was no great shakes to pick up bags of 30,40,50 assorted sea-trout and salmon, certainly as a 15 year old I could do that several times in a season, whatever methods I used I think your right though, salmon are on the decline, but its still the best fish we have in british waters, nothing qui
  17. Glassy Junction, your local indian pub, barmaids are indian, customers are indian, went in once for a coke and I was the only Gorah, drew quite a few stares http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gc4QPa32PLg

Glassy Junction in south road southall,EVERYONE wears a turban, was the first pub in the UK to accept indian rupees as payment for alcohol
  19. What would have been more impressive from a lurchermans point of view would have been a fallow, roe, and muntie in the same day,now THAT would be impressive
  20. I think more guys will have knocked over a roe, hare, and fox in a nights lamping than will have taken a salmon, wild brown, and a rainbow in a day
  21. From what I remember of the place you would have gotten change of a guinea-pig as well.Anything you wanted you could get there, just had to ask around
  22. John Voight and Jennifer Lopez are behind you
  23. Excellent result Aled I am going to attempt it fairly soon, salmon, brown, and either a sea or rainbow. In the past many times I have taken sea-trout and salmon in the same day,or browns and rainbows I deffinately want a salmon in the trio, the water I have been invited on is £100+ a day I dont intend to fish for the full 24 hours so will leave a pro-rata payment Spinning-rods on a fly-only Irish Tsk,tsk
  24. Thats a BIG grass-snake,3 foot?Theres loads of them around here but never seen one that size
