  5. There seems to be a vast difference in what people think is an acceptable size for terrier and lurcher rings. What do you all think is best?
  6. Certainly is! Certificates for the 100 mteres and scurry too, just so there's no doubt who the fastest is!

If there's a serious stuff stall holder out there that wants to come, give me a call on 07703 170512 or email wfbdogshow@btinternet.com

  11. Woodham Ferrers & Bicknacre Terrier, Lurcher & Ferret Show in Essex Saturday, 17th July. Lodge Road Playing Field, Lodge Road, Woodham Ferrers, Near Chelmsford, in Essex. CM3 4HL for sat nav users. Many qualifiers, including Chatsworth and East Anglian, Pride of the Peaks, EDRD and Bull Cross etc. Excellent judges who know their stuff and been doing it many years. Terrier judge from Wales, Lurcher judge from Sussex. ACES will also be there for racing and canine agility. There were some pretty fast times last year, so they need to be beaten! Terriers & Lurche
  12. And if you want to support a small show, started purely as a result of me and three friends wanting to do something to support countryside activities after the Hunting Ban, come to Woodham Ferrers & Bicknacre (Essex) on the 17th July! All proceeds to charity. Sorry to use this as a plug for our show, but I have to agree - £40+ for a family just to walk through the gate is ridiculous - especially as if you've been to one, you've been to them all! The small ones, wherever they are in the country, are always, in my (fairly limited) experience, the best! Cheers
  13. 3rd party liability cover (at least). Speak to Event Insurance Services 0800 515980 I'm sure they can help you.
  14. Hi - can't praise it enough... On the ring front - a small ring doesn't really prevent the judge from picking the best dog - and I know the Champions were fantastic dogs, (esp terrier champ who I've seen before - and I believe retained his title this year?...) so in the scheme of things it probably made no difference to the outcome... just a minute detail. I guess the fact that you've had no other feedback on this post means that you're doing a great job! Sincerely hoping to come again next year..., guess I'll have to ask my welsh friends to put me up in June and August!
  15. Hi yes, I've been to your show before - last year infact and sadly, couldn't make it this year. If you want constructive criticism on last year, then here goes... Thought it was GREAT! It was one of the most memorable shows I have ever been to (except our own of course!) Although it was muddy, there was a fantastic community spirit with the tractors on hand to pull everyone out! I wish we could have a show like that round our way with not only the dogs, but the craft too.... stick making classes and the best bale of hay etc etc. Sure you get those kind of classes at the big country shows
  16. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and how clever is your dog if it's not fooled by a piece of fluff! Well done to the organisers - a good day.
  17. I agree with Donnyc - in England as long as there's no entrance fee, you can show a docked dog. However, if you don't have the correct paperwork (unlike you) and a member of the public makes a complaint to the authorities, the police have a duty to investigate whether a crime has been committed. I think the police probably have better things to do with their time, but there we are!
  18. Please excuse my ignorance because I'm not from the area, but what does "WNF" stand for - I get the "HSC" bit! Also, do you have a post code for the venue? And what time judging start? I would phone, but I've got no credit at the moment! Cheers
  19. Thank-you! Fingers crossed for next year!

  21. Hi Aces - thanks for a good time. We'd never been before as you know, so we thought we'd give it a go. The dogs absolutely loved it, although on one of his runs (the 13.44 one) Chalky got a bit distracted by some nice smelling rabbit poo just as I let him go by the start line! I'm sure he'd have beaten Lardy's time if he'd have not got distracted..., Lee was at the other end and he said that he (Chalky) won the second of his group races - and boy those borders are rapid! Unfortunately we got a call and had to leave before the long jump, but we'll definitely come again to give that a go and
  22. That's not enough numbers in that phone number... Ignore that last post - looked at it before I read the PM you sent me. Cheers
