  1. Do you think Pedrosa isn't heavy enough for the bike as was reported last week. He can't shift his weight onto the back like the others to get the bike to squat so he looses vital grip whilst trying to cain it out of corners.
  2. I was just trying to be a smart arse , but I would genuinely be interested if I knew exactly what gear you are selling.
  3. I'll give you something for it.
  4. Don't interact with him when he degenerates into play biting. Stop the game dead in it's tracks, don't say anything, turn your back on him and walk away, he'll soon get the message that it is unacceptable to play with humans using his teeth. Have the kids do the same, but always under supervision.
  5. Some will be more headstrong and/or less attentive than others. I've had a pup that would recall perectly from she was walking and I just had to build and develop on that. I currently have a dog who used to just stand and stare at me, barking defiantly when called. With him it took time, patience and gentle coaxing. He is now by far my best dog, although he is still a headstrong bugger sometimes. Some will say otherwise, and each to their own, but I think it takes as long as it takes. I train my dogs to quite a reasonable level of obedience and I never loose my head or run out
  6. I have a castrated whippet and it has not affected his working ability or prey drive a jot. He was castrated at 18 months because he wasn't coping very well with my bitch being in season. He stopped eating, lost too much weight, howled all day and night. I listened too much to someone telling me castration was the answer. I regret doing it for other reasons, mainly that he is tormented by every entire male he meets. I would never have a dog castrated for the reasons you state. I think some medical necesssity is now the only reason for me to consider doing it again. He is a s
  7. Could I ask politely please, why a dog is travelling across from one rescue in UK to another in Ireland? Again, politely, have we not enough rescues of our own over here?
  8. Received the sample today and it is perfect for a 9.5 mm glass fibre pole. It takes a full clove hitch using 2 mm braid running line. I was going to order 1000, which is the minimum order and sell them on in batches at cost + postage. But due to the small costs involved, I can't be arsed with the hassle it would cause me. Perhaps someone with a business could make a small profit or someone wouldn't mind paying £55/1000. Here's the link to Anixter. My sample took a day to arrive and I know they are a big company so it should be pain free. It's item number 4101017 Anixter Compo
  9. S, I placed a sample order for 1 with a large distribution company. It looks the same size of the ones I was given. If it's the same, they will only sell at £55/1000 grommets. But we could sell the rest on cheaply to recoup the cost.
  10. Hi S, I noticed Bridport nets had them on Saturday. How many do you want?
  11. Definately hormonal. I had one drag the other into bed for three weeks, now the roles are reversed. I've split them up for now as the current dragger is a bit too rough and doesn't care if she grabs by the ear, eye, whatever.
  12. The good for me is the dry wit of some on here. To be honest, I don't often come into the forum for tips, more to laugh at some of the comments. Sometimes the replies are sledgehammer blunt and cut straight to the chase, but have a humourous slant. Others are derogatory and not pleasant in the least. There are some on here who just think they are witty but they just can't manage it. I'd count them amongst the bad. Bad is also the rip off merchants in the for sale section. The ones who steal off decent people and the ones who don't ever reply to genuine offers. I'd say the
  13. I heard they were flying into Scotland so they can be assured of a hero's welcome.
  14. Loads of very good breeders around but avoid the puppy farmers and ones who just talk money, there are a few. Show bred stuff will work, but I would look for evidence that the parents have worked. Although there are no guarantees, it'll cut down the chances of getting a lemon. Overall though, I would say they pretty much all have high prey drive and will want to chase. Don't listen too much to the 'Sooty Sam lines' claims, he's well gone and his genes are well diluted by now. They are great little dogs and if reared correctly and entered properly, they'll payback your patience 10
  15. Maybe so, but they are looked after correctly, their nails are kept trimmed and they are walked. Why have you put a non working dog up for sale on the working dog section. I suppose you'd say it would catch a rabbit when it ever manages to see one. I hope you get the £100 quid you are looking for, that dog needs taking away from you.
  16. She is beautiful, but aside from that is that Nadal? I shouldn't really have noticed anyone else apart from her
  17. Depressing. 1. Why is it a snip at 100 quid just because its got papers. It's a dog that hasn't done anything, the papers do not make it into a good dog. Its nails could do with a cut, it looks out of shape, it could do with a good feed and it looks scared shitless. Why did it take you 3 years to decide you had no time for it 2. You appear to be trying to make a buck or two out of breeding a litter of KC reg'd whippets. I wonder how long it'll take for the bitch to be shown the door.
  18. Stroller, I can see why you love those two dogs and your pride comes through loud and clear in your post. That is a cracking picture of both of them together. I really don't want to sound patronising, but people like yourself are deserving of, and would get the best from any dog you choose to own. Why? Because you have the dog's own interests at heart, not your own ego. In finding work for them, you get the very best from what some people, less passionate about dogs than yourself, would only consider to be useless and expensive pets. I've come across a few prize knobs on this
  19. Are you trying to net the entire county young Dave? Between sewing and buying your going to catch a lot of rabbits in September! LOL, with my knitting speed I'm not going to surround very much if bradbury2522 doesn't sell me this.
  20. I would look forward to that one.
  21. Thankyou TC, I'd like to see it run out and if it looks decent on the pic I'll stand by my original offer. You'll not be messed about if you're fair by me.
  22. Have you got any pics of it?
  23. Did this not sell for £85 a week ago? I'll offer you £ posted.
  24. GARLIC WARNING!! For years doctors and scientists have told us that some foods are good for us only to be told later that they bad for us. They tell us some foods are bad for us, and all the time they've been good for us, and there doesn't seem to be much proof either way to suggest what is good or bad...... until now that is. Garlic is definitely BAD for us "You are what you eat"
  25. I must remember that phrase for the next time I want to strike an honest deal.
