you always said that one day you would catch more moles than i do, you were right ,now that i have retired from moling
-
it took me years of persuation for bob to use metal half barrel traps , now he,s gone over to them almost fully and i think he only uses the old wooden or gas pipe ones occationally, i have a couple of his gaspipe ones in my collection and have caught moles with both but it took too long to set them, nice to see traditonal ones tho, i think he also showed peggy how to make them

better off with a funnel for jacks and a ladder for rooks , very acrobatic them little jackies, make the funnel down to about 8 -12 inches from the ground with a hop stick about half way down, side funnels work too , but top ones are better for crows , your funnel need only come half way down the height of the cage

good news is , my mate picked his dog up from a rescue center in langley park this afternoon, it was found wandering about somewhere in bishop , theres a suprise, looks like spreading the word has got the thieving b*****ds to dump the dog, he gave a good donation to the center for thier trouble and is going to get his dogs chipped, thanks for all your help

near bishop auckland , co durham keep an eye out in the ad mag - under TRIMDOM / DURHAM / SPENNYMOOR ads , we gave a lad who wanted a lurcher free or cheap from there , it was unwanted stock from a mate , thought we was doing the lad a favour , as he said it was for his son starting out , it was then re sold in the ad trader for 110 nicker , and i got a feeling a lad from trimdon was who nicked my bull x's at christmas just gone . look on ad trader website and you will see the terrier / lurcher ads wanted , free or cheap , its all the same numbers , also same numbers what advertise do

my mate had one of his terriers stolen from a kennel this afternoon, black and tan rough dog with working marks , its a lump of a dog and will be easily recognised, a board was leavered off the front of the kennel and the dog taken, he,s a very placid ,laid back type of dog, unlike the owner , there a good reward for the safe return of the dog, any info greatly appreciated

they were ready we should have been a few days ealier and we would have had a good tally we still shot over 1000 rooks at least but they were all ready on the wing so shotguns did most of the damage all though the lads knocked a good few over with the airguns nemo must have a blood lust cos me and him were out last night shooting young rooks , we managed 1001 for 47 shots

the real old scottish ruby snares were four strands of brass and two of bronze , copper is softer than bronze. i use a special kind of copper slightly thicker than the brass and stronger , i make a four strand snare using two of brass and two of copper , its as thick as a 6 strand brass wire very pliable , and strong, fast running and good for fencelines , and pegged snares , woodga and i have been using them for a few years , infact i have 6 drums lying here for woodga to collect on saturday when he comes up and 6 for geordie also. i might just have to pay woodga a visit after saturday

didn,t like it at all , it wasn,t as new as i was lead to believe either , so i just ordered myself a bsa ultra multishot in .177 , thanks for the advice anyway

.......this gets the fox used to seeing it in one place. If you keep moving it....it will take time to accept it in it's new location. is this not a bit of a contradiction ?, if the fox went in on the first night then surely it has accepted the trap in that location not had much to do with fox cages , but plenty to do with other fox control methods
