Is 'silicon' the same as 'silicone'? I've always thought 'silicon' was a non-metallic crystalline element, and 'silicone' something I use to make/repair fish tanks or seal the bath....

That would have been my solution Mal. Though with my eyesight I'd probably have shot meself in the foot.... And I don't doubt that if hiho had winged the animal and incapacitated it then a head-shot would have followed as soon as possible. If, as Jamie stated, hiho's only 13 and learning, then he's learned about footwork There was no malice intended in my original post.

Age is irrelevent. My point was simply that the anti's will use this as an example of just blasting away without a thought that the animal might suffer. We're constantly exhorted not to take shots unless we can guarantee a head shot. We can't have it all roads. Don't bend this to imply that I don't think the mink should have been killed. I know what devastation they can wreak to the local wildlife.
