    'Lee' What has the amount of time I've kept ferrets for got to do with my knowledge of ferret genetics, or genetics in general? You've kept them for '50 years' and seem to know very little about their genetics.....

Given that your knowledge of Waardenburgs is sketchy to say the least, and you don't seem to have much of a grasp of genetics, all I can say to you is this: Jog on mate. But thanks for keeping it polite, that's an improvement at least.

    Life's too short 'Lee'. And I'm sure that's what your last post on Flaming was, but the damage was done earlier. Waardenburgs is a 'syndrome', ie a set of symptoms any of which point to a known neurodevelopmental problem. Not all of the symptoms need to be there to 'prove' the syndrome. But I'm sure you knew that already. Clearly your comparing a genetic problem to a viral disease was just in jest. No pics of the ferret. I'm not that sad.     Let's have a bit of a history lesson here. The main reason Leeview has a thing about whether Waardenburgs exists in this country is that about 2 years ago there was a very long and bitter debate on Flaming Ferret regarding the breeding of Waardenburgs ferrets by the Show fraternity. Leeview (in an alter ego) dived in with both feet and made a complete spanner of himself.     £40 for emergency out of hours at my local vet. You have to get to them, but in hours they'll come to you for £15. £103 is a piistake.

    My Rocket bolted too.... Parsnips are a bit slow (but that's parsnips for you) but my chervil is doing nicely, the garlic's already been harvested, carrots are doing OK and broad beans are going bonkers. Beetroot's looking good too.

    A 5lb chub's a good fish. Try a maggot feeder. Get the feeder as close to overhanging banks or vegetation as you can. Size 16 or 18 hook, 30cm hooklength.

    Worth remembering that lead is a cumulative poison: it remains in the body a long time, and lots of little doses have the same effect (eventually) as one big dose.

    I'm getting confused now. This thread's been ranting on about foreigners coming over and pinching our jobs. But the sort of people you describe are more often than not the locals...... I tend to agree with you though. The sooner people have to put some effort in to get the dole, the quicker they might get off their arses and find a job. Make 'em work for it.

    Good rods mate. I have the Barbel version too, excellent for the Method on carp puddles. These rods are really 4 rods in one, as you can fish them at 11' or 13'.

    That sums it up for me, too. Tellingly, the people charged for harassing the Romanians in NI were all teenagers. Maybe the adults had sussed it?
