  2. As a kid i always thought a dark coloured dog would be virtually invisible at night WRONG!!!My wee fawn dog seems to become invisible on any sort of ground, and i have a job keeping the lamp on her at times. Fact is a rabbit would hear/smell a dog long before it seen it.
  3. Well done mate, there will be no stopping him now.Bill

He's a handsome chap LL,hope he does you proud and all the best with him,Bill only been out once on lamp to watch and was very keen and settled , this weekend was his first time proper working and as you will see he was keen to get in there and accounted for 2 mixy bolters retrieved live to hand , only thing he done wrong was hunted up a bit and started to quarter field like a gun dog , but a swift call and he was straight back , nose down and marking well for first time ferreting , had the arse of one as it went to go down another hole and dragged the beggar out lol I know

  9. My old man had a half cross collie grey in the 60's.He was still talking about how good the dog was until the day he died in 2001.Said it wasn't the fastest, but could think quicker than any dog he'd seen.RIP Dad,RIP Laddie
  10. Shite, you get what you pay for.I feed two dogs a good mixed diet of chicken wings and necks, rabbit, breast of lamb, offal, meaty bones, boiled greens and an odd handfull of good quality dry food (JWB or Burns).Costs me less than a fiver a week to feed the two of them.

  13. Best bait for crays is KIPPER but make sure its hung in the trap otherwise they'll pick at it from the outside. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...st&p=561844
  14. When i was a nipper my old fella would take me and my brothers to the local working mens club on a staurday,we'd drink coke, eat crisps and be a right royal pain in the arse.At some point during the night someone would say "the cockle mans here !!" in would walk a chap in a white overall carrying a large basket full of shell fish, cockles, mussells, whelks, winkles etc etc. We'd buy a bag of cockles each and a bag of whelks for my old fella, drown everything in vinegar and watch it drip all over your legs when the paper bag started leaking lol. Must be 30 years since i last seen a cockle man,is ther
  15. I agree,if its what you want then travel, the problem is not everybody can be trusted. The dog world is full of messers and bullshitters.Whilst i have been lucky with the people i've dealt with over the years, other people i know have travelled hundreds of miles only to be fed a load of shite,or be asked to buy shite. One of my dogs came from a site member,i pm'd him, then spoke to him by phone,he asked for a deposit and gave me a date to collect the pup,job done.

The man is unbelievable !! They reckon he can run below 19 seconds for the 200m
  17. AA S200,cracking little gun,and small and light enough for the young un.
  18. Be prepared to be dissapointed. It takes lots of preparation and lots and lots of patience.I'd start with prebaiting,i used to use liquidised cat or dog food.Get them used to some form of lighting as well, cos if you try putting a lamp on them they will be gone pronto.Once you have evidence that they are feeding, your half way there. Most importantly, use a backstop (thick plywood sheet) and make sure that no livestock are likely to be hit by a stray pellet.Best of luck.
  19. I don't doubt it! Thought sausage was more your thing though!? Well Darcy told me "i'm a giver not a reciever"
  20. Best wishes Kay,and may you have many more mate.Bill
