went out this morning to give the young dog a bit more experience got a couple of bolters then a dig
it was about 3 1/2 foot among roots i had a little breather
a bit more digging and retrieved the ferret
then the rabbit
i got 5 rabbits out of the warren
i thought i would take my young dog out ferreting today because my experienced dog is injured he dislocated one of his toes and is feeling sorry for his self
i just wanted to do a few sets to see how the young dog would do so i netted up the first one
silas sat nice and quiet
and i got three out silas was on them like a shot covering them in the net like he had done it all before
we moved on to the next one silas was stood waiting for a bolt
he was on to the two what bolted and held them while i got there i could not believe how steady he was
here a pic of the 8 rabbi
Totally agree I only keep dogs and allways kennel two together ,but never three, twos company threes a crowd and the pack thing takes over ,one growls at another and the third joins in bingo ,mayhem.
my two boys are ok together
took my mate tony for a few hours out
i asked if he wanted to do a bit of digging
a pic of the ferret working a rabbit in a block end
getting a bit more leaverage
and the end result 9 rabbits all dug to
and a pic of me and miggs who where tired out watching tony do all the digging
went out for a look around tonight did a couple of fields and picked up 6 rabbits but one had mixy
here is miggs with his catch
i enjoyed the night i have got some hoop snares and body grips out will let you know how i do
i was asked to control some rabbits on a new field a farmer had just bought
i used some 116 body grips and hoop snares for the job here are a few pics
four in a row
and the end result 28 rabbits which is not bad because it was a full moon and a still night
there is nothing wrong with that net its the best net i have ever had i got one of those stealth nets i just use it as a back ground if needed i have had four ton plus days and numerous eightys behind that net
took my friends lad on his first days decoying today i was on the borridge again i have shot a lot of pigeons on this field i tried two rotorys today here a pic of the set up
and here is my mates lad with the end result 74 pigeons
which were shot by me
went out at 12 o clock to try my new rotory which i got off deako got set up on some borridge i had all ready shot 68 on it two weeks ago today i picked 76 and i lost at least 15 in the field behind me
still not a bad afternoon
