  1. The above bitch wasnt stolen from a Garden in Chatsworth, it was bred and owned by Mally and was from our stud dog.
  2. We use Shirleys puppy wormer (available from pet shops) on all our pups every 2 weeks from 2 weeks old till they leave us at 8 weeks old, it's very mild and never upsets them, weve never had a problem with any litters with worms but in saying that all our adult dogs are routeenly wormed every 3 months with Drontal +. i'd be suprised if it was worm infestation alone that had killed the pup, their might have been something else thats gone undetected wronge with it.
  3. I totaly agree mate, mine have takled fox but I don't encourage it because whippets IMO arn't natural fox dogs. The trouble is some are sold on big claims?
  4. Sooty Sam decendants do very well in the field (rabbits, rats, hares, the odd fox but whippets arnt natural fox dogs due to their lack of weight) they do well at lure coursing, But lack the top pace at racing.
  5. The Lancashire PWRC have once again been invited to supply the runners for a whippet race to be held on the 25th November as part of the Retired Greyhound Trust funds raising meeting. Last time we ran a whippet race we raised £475 from the 1 race which was donnated by our club straight to the RGT. Here are the 6 Runners for the race. (traps to be decided nearer the time by the Belle Vue Race Manager) These are the 6 runners that will take part in the Whippet Race on the 25th November. 1. Straight And Narrow (Owned by John Spear) 2. Bella (Owned by Patrick Hawkins) 3. S

  8. my first whippet bitch (18lb in weight) used to try and go to ground all the time given the chance, the worst time was while walking through a cemetary and she chased a rabbit the next second she was dissapearing under a grave after it digging away as she went (one of those bit monument type things they used to use) luckily nobody was about as i was on my hands and knees trying to drag her out.
  9. where were the pictures taken? looks like a great day.
  10. Had many blank days out on the knock, the only way is to keep trying.

  12. 8 would be a bit late for a 1st litter IMO,
  13. mix a little suger in with it to sweeten it a little that will encourage him to drink it.
  14. great looking pups, good luck with them.
  15. were off to Cornwall Tuesday for 4 weeks. were staying on the Lizard, I fish at the old sub base down at port Kerris a lot, good fishing and great views.
  16. very very unlikely that both dogs have fathered the litter so far apart. it's more likely that most of the pups have thrown to the mum and the other to the sire. the chances are the whippet isnt the father of any of them. that is possible but the dogs must mate the bitch within 24 hours or at the latest 48 hours of each other.

  18. it's club racing for club members dogs. most weeks we get around 15 racing as well as new dogs trialing and pups schooling. As for the date, to much sun and drink in the same afternoon.
  19. the jab can be given up to about 5 weeks but the earlyer the better, had our old bitch done last year after an accident (we did her after 5 days) but a warning it if very dangerous stuff and if you have a partner who may be expecting then she must stay away from the bitch after it's been jabbed as it can cause miscarraige in humans as well.
  20. cheers mate, i'll have to have a closer look.

Another Great days racing at the Lancashire, the ground was dry but due to the hard work by the groundsman the track was in fantastic condition. it was nice to see Wendy & Tony at the club it's always nice to see you both. The Clubs pups are continueing to gain in confidence every week i'm sure they will all take to racing without any problems. Nice to see more new faces at the club again and all their dogs seemed to enjoy their runs. it was also nice to see Honeys brother & sister come over for a visit. after racing members retired to the club house for a drink and
