    I did indeed set the stop nets and they caught one escapee. I've been tree planting all last week and this week and there is shit signal. The easiest way to get my attention is with an air rifle

    Had some of the beaters over yesterday for a day with the ferrets, haven't got a massive problem with them just trying to clear a few from places that a hard to get with the lamp. We set out at nine and headed for a drainage ditch that is 300 yards long and holes from one end to the other. The plan was to work it in stages pushing the rabbits along the hedge, netted up the first 50 yards and bolted 4 in minutes moved the nets up and bolted another 1.     Just get a normal heat lamp they hardly cost anything to run. Tube heaters warm the air and unless there is a door on the kennel it won't do a lot, were as a heat lamp heats what it's shining on.

    It's america of course she would require surgery, and some therapy sessions followed by some dog rehabilitation sessions so she can go near them again all helps them add zero's on the compo cheque. It pisses me off that people think they can just go up to any dog and fuss it like a baby and give it kisses etc. The dog reacted to a threat it was a quick snap not a savage attack.

    When she kills them is she shaking them or just biting down on them? If she is biting down and getting bit she just needs to learn to shake them to kill them quicker.

    Why is it when people get an answer they don't like they start picking up on spelling and grammer in the persons post, then the other side replies by calling them everything under the sun it's like a bloody school yard on here sometimes. The bloke has a patterdale and doesn't work it to ground so what, if he's happy with it then thats all that matters. Before you all start I know it's a cardinal sin to own a working breed terrier and not dig to it in some people's eyes but get off your little orange boxes and just answer the blokes question.     If it won't retrieve a rabbit skin dummy with out eating it, it's not going to be much good with a real rabbit.

    I've always taken mine ferreting and he's not allowed to put his head into the holes or push the nets. And as a result i've never had him do more than sniff a rabbit hole.

    Put the dummy in his mouth and hold it there gently telling him "hold" command, only briefly and then release it and praise. Repeat about 5-6 times do this every day until he will sit infront of you holding it until you say "dead" or what ever command you use. Then send a short retrieve and when he comes close give him the hold command and praise him for holding it when he gets to you. Works for me.

    You must think it's really tight when it's not or it won't come off. I had to make a hole in the collar for my jills as the standard holes don't go small enough.

    Lifting a dog by scruff won't affect or hurt it.

    What would you like to know ?, the biggest litter i've personaly had was eleven, there's one factoid for you. have you ever seen them in more than 2's above ground?? what is the normal, sized litter?? how long do they actually stay with there parents after they born?? anybody ever examined a fox's stomach content?? i have been on nearly every site i can find, showing him pics an reading out some facts for him, but even as im reading it i know a lot of it is shite, what chance have our kids got if everything wrote about animals is written by blinkered folk I shot one (did I
