    REDEYE JEDI(DOM) came up saturday to learn the art of snaring,the weather wasnt ideal cold and still,but the day was just to show him the differant types of snares and how to set them,we set pegged,hoop and fence snares,i shown DOM how and where to set the first snare then told him to set the rest which he did quite well.So back up at first light to check them was not expecting many as the weather was crap for snaring but we managed 4 rabbits. Took a couple of pics of DOMS first fence snared rabbit,them me battery died on me phone so could take any more pics,which was a shame as it was DOMS

    Well first off a big thank you to steve and the lads for the invite and a fantastic days ferreting really enjoyed it.Me flask broke before we even got there so all day for me without a cup of tea made up for it when i got home though As REDEYE JEDI said the dog was the star of the show,marking was spot on everytime never let us down.Steve and the lads were a bit disapointed about the bag only being 30 i thought it was a cracking bag.And yes the surprise at that dig made my day,STEVEO you was lucky .     Same way of thinking as me mate,i thought with all the snow covering the ground and frozen the rabbits would be skin and bone,but deffo not lovely fat rabbits

    Missus got me a rangefinder i will let you know what its like when i get the stupid poxy f@ucking barstool p1ssing thing to work . Also got a frying pan with a bottle opener on the handle think my missus thinks i live on fry ups and beer

    They were big rabbits they was some of the biggest and heavest i have seen on that farm for a while.

    It wouldnt have mattered any way if the net was set right if DOM got to it.it would have only ran off again when he put it on the floor . I will put me hands upto this one it was me who set the net but in my defence i had a major hangover :sick: .Glad you both enjoyed it

    Hes alright kay thanks,my mum got took into hospital on xmas day,she is in for two weeks on strong antibiotics for her lungs,she has got a infection on them,so he goes upto see her everyday so couldnt make this trip but there will be others.Stay tuned

    Well REDEYE JEDI(DOM) turned up at mine alomg with BODGERBEAR(ROB),the plan was to ferret a long bank which holds quite a few rabbits.So we got to the place and DOM and ROB started setting the long nets, the ground was like concrete they had a hell of a job,i couldnt help as i was nursing a major hangover :sick: but they got there in the end.So ferrets entered and we waited,suddenly i saw ROB sprinting like mad coat open sweat pouring off him,he would have put most lurchers to shame .1 rabbit in the long net then for the next half an hour the rabbits where just hole hopping,and god there

    Due to unforeseen circumstances a lad i had invited up to help me and my ferreting partner cant make the day we had planned,its the monday after boxing day,its a bank holiday,we was set to ferret a big bank far to many holes for two people to watch,so i am asking if there is anybody from the nottingham area who could give us a hand,can not say it will be a big bag,just need somebody to help out for a morning. NO KNOBHEADS,NO KIDS,NO DOGS,NO GUNS,MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORT I AINT NO TAXI AND NOBODY WHO WOULD GO BACK ON THE LAND BEHIND MY BACK. If you can get vouch for by somebody i know or

    Well been out four times so far and managed one rabbit,the land as got a decent population of rabbits on it the ground has runs all over cracking runs but i cant snare them as its got horses on .Tried the long nets last week when bodgerbear came up with me,we bolted three rabbits and they all went round the nets so i need a bit more practice i think got up yesterday to go and the motor wouldnt start .Anyone else having a bad start oris it just me

    Went out this morning to look at a field i plan on ferreting next week,took the CZ .22 with me in case i saw anything.Went up to the field not as many rabbits out as i was expecting,there does not seem to be many rabbits about this year,so walked round the whole field and never got a shot at a rabbit so headed back to the car just got to the gate and saw a movement near a pheasant feeder could see a squirral feeding on the corn off the floor,looked through the scope and had to wait for the squizz to move to the left a bit away from a stone didnt want to risk a rebound,so what seemed like hours

    The rabbits that are found alive in snares are the ones that have just been caught say in the morning just before you check them or ones you have scared in while they have been out feeding.

    Why would the rabbits have a painful death? At 3.00 you was exicited about learning to snare then a hour later your saying the rabbits will die a painful death so what changed your mind then.

    get them forms in the post asap,i was the same as you the land i shoot over had already been passed for firearm,so you are half way there anyway,the farmer said he will support you, with the look of things you should get it no probs. And as somebody said before you will wish you had done it years ago i know i did,love getting out with my cz cracking tools they are.
