    I live in town,5 mins walk and i am in countryside with a nice little river that i fish in summer(nice chub in there)i am 10 mins from my permission and 15 mins from work,2 mins walk to the pub(2 hours walk home from the pub )most of my neighbours are OAPS all of them very nice people,like to talk about the old days and at christmas time they all give me christmas cakes :thumbs-up:.We do get some t1t heads now and again but other then that not a bad strret to live on.

    I have always used straw and never had a problem with ticks,its only when i have used hay that my ferrets seem to pick up ticks.

    I was out ferreting this morning,on one hedgerow i ferret i set a short long net on one side then set purse nets on the other.I noticed that the rabbits bolting on the long net side where just skipping from hole to hole,and the ones that ran towards the net were just ambling along,where as the rabbits that bolted in to the purse nets were hitting them at speed.Do you folks think that the rabbits know the purse nets are there and try to force their way through at speed?.Or is there some other reson for it?.Just wondering.

    How do you know nightrunner clubs them to death as you put,just because he is in a photo with a stick under his arm? How do you know it was not nightrunners walking stick?he could have a bad leg,but we will never know because as is the norm on here people jump down other peoples throat before they have all the facts. I thought the pics where ok,and with the look of things people on here could have learnt a few things off nightrunner. As its been said ANOTHER COUNTRY.......ANOTHER CULTURE.

    I set my snares in the morning then leave them till the following morning,so not to disturb the rabbits, unless i am having a fox problem then i will check them just after dark.

    Hi mate you will struggle to buy a working ferret a good one anyway they are rare,its very rare that people with a good working ferret will ever sell it,there are many ferrets advitised as good workers but they have probably got some fault like skulking just inside the hole instead of coming to hand or they are biters.Imo stick with the ferret you have got and given time he will come good,don't be in a rush to get him working he will take to it in his own time, never force the ferret,you could buy some young ferrets this year and get them going in september,a ferret that you have bought up han

    Well done mate,my snaring was a bit hit and miss,then i found this site,i bought woodga dvd and with that and people on this site my snaring skills have come good,i have even started making my own snares like the ones off woodgas dvd,with a few emails to woodga when things used to go t1ts up .I put a photo up of one snare i made and had pm's of woodga and snareman telling where i went wrong and how to do it the right way.Thanks again lads

    There is a game fair at catton park near burton on trent in april its only half an hour from nottingham its a good game fair,i went last year.
