George theres no need for an apology mate i never hold a grudge lifes to short ,you are entitled to your opinion as i am to mine ,i have posted a poll on the subject in the deer stalking and management section just to see what the general feeling on the certification is ,ian b was kind enough to pin it in the important topics section ps. might take you up on that pint though ...lol

Thankyou, tommydeer and decker ,i am all for educating newcomers to stalking ,but to me the best people to learn from are people who have experience and who can pass on thier vast knowledge to others we should be welcoming people into fieldsports not pricing them out of it ,i am afraid that i was spoiled in the repect that i have a friend who does a considerable amount of stalking and he has passed some of his knowledge on to me and after nine years i am still learning from him and i thouroughly enjoy when he has spare time to come out on a stalk with me and i sincerely hope that i can pass wh

i was taught by a person who has years of expierience in stalking all types of deer he is still called upon to help profesional stalkers achieve thier cull although i am a recreational stalker and i only take enough deer for my own consumption i spend loads of time punching paper to make sure that when i fire at a live target be it a roe deer or a fox the shot is placed acurately and the animal is cleanly dispached ,i also spend allot of time just watching the deer that live on and around my permitions sometimes my wife likes to go out early morning with me just to watch the deer go about thie

it does seem to be a bit of a rip off

hi guys ,i recently got slated for airing my opinion on these qualifications and would like to know what the majority of stalkers both professional and recreational think of these qualifications
-
no need to be sorry ,im sorry that we will be loosing the knowledge of the many professional stalkers who will not pay for these certs this is only my opinion and each to thier own
-
my main emphisis is to stop people using this as a cash generator ie joe blogs with no shooting experience and little or no stalking experience buying this qualification and thinking he knows more than the guy who has the relevent experience,i have been stalking only roe deer for about 9 years i do not sell the deer/venison , i shoot to fill my freezer i have no inclination to move on to other types of deer so my knowlege is limited to the quarry i hunt but if the law changes i will be required to have these certs,i am by no means an expert, but if i buy these qualifications i could become an

thankyou liam , i will give it a try and let you know what happens i never thaught about changing the type of primers the load i was using was 55gr nosler bt heads and vit n140 @ 34gr with cci large rifle primers with a C.O.L.of 2.350nches NH - you are almost there with your recipe. hi mate , i have been trying out other homeloads using different heads and powders and grains of powder for that matter but cannot get it any tighter do you mind me asking what the recipie for the homeloads was so i could try that at the moment i am using maximum C.O.L. as this is still back from the start of the rifling -
this is yet another sport that is being eaten away from inside all due to greed and expierienced stalkers will be lost forever because they do not want someone possibly less qualified than themselves deciding wheather or not they are competant at the job they have been doing for possibly 25-30 years,if it was all about deer welfare why do bds not run seminars or training sesions free of charge that people must attend prior to being granted a stalking rifle or include question papers with the aplication to aquire a stalking rifle, it is only my opinion but it seems that it is only the people th

i thought about doing the course, but cant help thinking that the people who are trying to make it compulsory are only doing so for finacial gain, its just another certificate to add to the pile, what next a certificate to shoot pigeons another for foxes and the list goes on and on why not include a questionaire with the aplication for firearms to be used for stalking where you have to do research and answer questions before it is granted to prove competancy instead of doing expensive courses that are not worth the paper they are written on .... my friend is a butcher and had to do a reco

i do still intend to reload but i was just interested in trying some of the factory alternatives im getting good groupings with my home loaded stuff about 0.75 inch at100yds but wondered if there were factory rounds that could produce this or better -
hi guys what factory ammunition works well in yor tikka t3 22.250 rem ,i normally reload but i am seeking a factory load that delivers accuracy and consistancy what do you recommend,i dont want to have to trawl through them all because they have become very expensive......
