  6. its a bull/grey, airedale/grey
  7. Yes mate, its a mate of mines...a good honest little grafter.....that dog has found when two other "big mans" terriers have failed.......i dug its first fox and i can honestly say that the dog is a good grafter...
  8. A good foxing team.....the lurcher had just dealt with a very big fox on his own prior to the picture being taken....thats what i call a good dog, one that doesnt take much stick.....
  9. speed and trainability for me.....
  10. @ millet..if the antis see these pictures they may try to ban foxing with lurchers...oh..its already banned!!!! nothing wrong with pre-ban pics IMHO....
  11. mange is pretty common in the urban area i live. They are a pitiful sight and i wish there was some way i could "vaccinate" them against it. The best thing i feel ids to kill as many of them as possible. The fox population local is at an all-time low. I hope this sorts itself out in the near future.

    Foxy

Either way you look at it, they were quality through and through and a credit to those that worked, bred and owned them......
  13. I saw some swallows and house martins yesterday...seems bloody late for them to be about..anyone else seen them?
  14. "Pepe 'le pugh" :11: thats what the cartoon was called i think...
  15. yes kane, the litter was bred for one particular quarry Of course, the rifle is very humane and effective , but the lurchers are there to follow up....just in case they are any accidents......perhaps we should get a kestrel each to flush quarry for it...its legal then.... would a kestrel pull a fallow??? :11:
  16. The brother to Tarmacs pup, my Charva, tracked his first roe this morning.... two brothers entered in two days... :friends: i have a feeling this seasons going to be a good one
  17. great pics,..thats what its all about...though in that first pic it looks like you have got a skunk on a lead!!!!
  18. good answer... but seriously, for someone hunting in very urban areas and for those halping out with the hounds , bolting foxes before earth stoppping in those reall BIG places, a 5 mins wonder can be very handy.... i used to have one myself and got many, many foxes with her...not only that, she ran all the earths i found so i knew the depths and where they ran....... a dog for a job
  19. funny, i thought all your dogs were five minute wonders :11: :11: :11:
  20. lol@smallmouth.....on a slightly different tangent, i honestly beleive that two lurchers is enough for any man. IMHO in order to get the best from the dog it must be given an over-abundance of work, plenty to see what its made of...how can these people with almost a dozen lurchers give them the work they need.....im out all the time with the lurchers, but i reckon i wont be able to give them enough this season and i only have two!!!... anyway, the seasons here folks....the grounds soft....yyeeeehhaaaaaa
  21. when i had one, i would have dropped a five minute wonder in....set a net, shouted the terrier out and stood back..... But, if it was a drain running over the M1 i would leave well alone just in case there was a sump hole....
  22. we had a celebratory drink........Oh, how the Red Bull did flow! :11:
