  1. The only thing that finds plough hard to run on is the rabbits ( big or small) the dogs are after, and maybe some small lurchers. how is stubble hard?
  2. wouldn't call plough an stubble hard ground to run on.
  3. do you mean determination or drive? don't agree about the feet as I've seen them run on bad rough ground and they can not take it, and end the day on three legs.
  4. to the deerhound cross owners, what do you think the deerhound adds to a cross? I would say strike and a rough coat and thats all most are way to big .
  5. were abouts is doxhope how often does he breed and has he a number to be contacted on ? see ive got my heart set on a good quality deer hound x don't get a half bred , as their no good as an all-rounders can only think of one use besides showing, get a 1/4 bred deerhound 3/4 greyhound thats bred from small stock and is not going to be over 27 , it will not be a all-rounder that you can run all-day and all-night every day but the odd day out it will catch most things in small numbers.
  6. Running a rabbit that you have slipped your dog on don't mean its Reckless, or that it will run Recklessly. Collie crosses for lamping need something else in them most of the time before they will run the lamp on what you slip them on and not what they want to run.
  7. You can see the difference a mile away in the shape, the racing ones are more tucked up and have a lot less stamina than the slower coursing bred ones. The Irish park coursing ones make ours look like whippets size wise
  8. Hes not asking whos got the best fox dog, to which you would get dozens of idiots replying. If you thought before you typed you would have no need to be careful of anyone.
  9. No not the wolds but right next to Salisbury plains, Only wire between the huge fields.
  10. stealing some ones dogs is bad enough but nicking a young lads pride and joy is the lowest you can go. A kicking for all the ones behind this is to good for them, they need stringing up.
  11. This is what i use(Recharge ) in a small bottle and squirt a bit in their mouths every now and again. http://www.greyhoundsuperstore.co.uk/displayprods.asp?curpage=2&qid=116&qdbquery=searchprodbycat&qtitle=%3Cfont+color%3Dred%3EVetsearch%3C%2Ffont%3E
  12. LOL you never know, you can see almost anything there.
  13. This is the type of land i love to run on, one day i'm moving there.
  14. PS also ran one of his bitches i think? think it was Annie?
  15. As i said to you before( i think when you was asking about using him for stud) PS had nothing to do with me getting joe, my mate whos dead sorted it for me I didn't even know PS at the time.
  16. dog collapsing after to much running especially the more greyhoundy types is common, first thing to do is cool them down then get some electrolytes in to them, then get them to a vet if their real bad. I always have electrolytes with me and give them a drink every now and again or have it in the van.
  17. sugarplums thats the trouble they would go back as far if not further in their pedigrees but after the first imports 99% have been bred for show. I've seen salukis kill 3s 4s (and would have done more if their owners let them) down next to Salisbury plains which i think is the hardest land there is to catch on JMO. On the fens these same salukis would have done even better but like i said there is only a small % of good ones in the UK and top one are even fewer.
  18. LOL don't you start ;-) I can do better than £500 I had my last one for nothing just paid for the registration fee.
  19. me to as you hardly ever see them for sale besides from Hancocks I would think it would be between bull xs and saluki xs
  20. I have nothing to prove to you and remember when i asked you a question well your going to get the same answer nothing , so you can keep bleating like a sheep .
  21. LOL I think that was the trouble with salukis over here. when I first went out with a saluki coursing club ( SGHC ) the standard was very low with only a few that i would call real coursing people who had good catch dogs, Most of them left to form a new coursing club and the years before the ban the standard went up best to the best( at catching ) is the only way to breed.
  22. they are well over priced, At one time the working type would go for two-three hundred or were given to friends or people interested in working them.
  23. what would you call a peddler ? as you no so so much about salukis I've no need to tell you anything have I, if you need to know look in your books.
