there is a collie cross paterdale at work that can catch allmost anything . she is realy good littel dog . fantasic nose and amasing rabbiter/ratter. can realy think of any more of hand. -

well its defo here , aftter a realy long winter one that took its toll on me and my family . its afical spring is here. walking the dogs this afternoon and saw my first house martin of the year . we have ducks nested with 12 eggs in the garden and the trees all seem to be in leaf allthough just starting ! what a lovly feeling it is sun on your back and warm wind in ya face . everything seems posible in spring and summer i love it....

true that mate but a legal pest spiecies non the less . its the way they rap around the dog that makes um so difcult to get . my best dog for it was a good littel staford male he would do any thing for cats. that dog had some scars from um to . all the best

how many of you have done cats with your dogs ? i used to get a good few a year with mine from farms that had to many ferrels and on shot ground where they kill everything they could. i think they deserve some credit as a good wild tom takes some doing . iv taken them with stafs :ph34r: lurchers and pats . any body got any good strorries or pics ? i dont have and pics sorry.

ok lads lets calm it down. paul is doing the right thing and getting him self sorted out with books and mews . he is rying to get started . so lets just chill out and do this right. paul mate try not to get involved to much mate falconry is a strange life style . and one folks get realy pasionate about. keep asking mate and you will get some good info . every one else just calm it down a bit lets help paul get it right. sean hawker is also fresh to the game only flying his first bird this last season . alot of the questions you asked or are gona ask , will be fresh to him .

i used to live near notts . and now i have mived to lincolnshire . as fare as i know most lads come out here from notts and shefeild i had terrible trouble finding anything much more than rabbits as its all shot. i think heading towards derbyshire is the next best option realy . bit bleak aint it

ok scanned the ema ford book it has more the sort of thing you are looking at needing . the upton book is good just its more text with some pic so might be beter to get that from the libary. there is a weathering there with materials list (only for flying season) and a mews that can be used all year. its not got dimentions but you can see from the pic whats needed. all the best with it mate. ps just looked at it the scans look shite on here right click um with your pouse and save them on you pc that way you will see them lasrger.

two good books mate are. falconry art and practise by emma ford falconry principles &practise by roger upton they both have realy good diagrams of mew/weatherings idea for harris etc emma fords evn has a materials listing i can scan um if you like and post them or email them to you mate help get you started. you will be well pleased with your self in the long run for doing it this way mate . all the bast matt

millet why you taking the piss mate ? or have i taken that wrong. i was trying to not be offensive.. iv nothing to prove mate i dont want to be a mod . i was just trying to help the lad . its along time since i had a harris or me first bird and was trying to put myself in his boots . but i must remeber to lisren to more first years in future as they have all the answers fresh in there minds from all the books they have read. most lads new to the game dont even know how to cope there birds or fit leg gear (this i know) so imping is somthing your mentor should be about to do. i d

a bit advanced for a fist year mate dont you think ? iv been flying birds about 7 years or more and i dont imp that often . i dont think most birds need it and the results are hard to ge right. you could be right tho millet. but i think a few bad feathers is nothing to be honest as true game hawks fly half moulted and wild stock fly right through the moult , its just not good falconry to carry on with other options. but again i could be wrong

i bred ant gs pups and i rekon i migh have bred paddys if not he looks like mine. there plenty fast enough mate . but dipends what you want it for . i ran a 9 month old race bred bitch with ants black dog in the pic and there aint much in it . of course she would piss him now lol i dont want bull whippets talked down or how unfast they are till you see one go they should get alittel more respect. at the end of the day its a classic whippet cross as we know that bull blood was added to whippets years ago. if this bicth of mine ever breaks down i will put ants dog over her to do s

27 rabbits and 2 hares between two young lamping dogs ( a littel comp between friends) my dog won and he sold his :whistle: it was over about 2 and a bit hours. ferreting we had some good 25s and more days this year. once with a friends dog did 4 foxes in 25 mins at the back of a chicken a turky farm kild an adult male and the dogs ran from the kill to take a cub only a few yards away

there not hard to come buy mate and in a few month there will be all the fresh young birds for sale. i dont think the bird will be to hard done by with a few taty feathers but i would wait. i dont want to ofend you but i think you should get some reading done mate , make sure you have all the kit and some good advice at the end of the phone or evern better at hand to help. you are only making it harder for yourself tyring to rush and get the bird to soon. i would try to get my telematry and mews built first mate and wile that lots going on read and read and read some more . see if

mate it should be in moult at the momentto grow new ones . if they are bad get it moulted and then its the end of the prblem. its not the end of the world if you dont moult it and fly it through but it will be in a terible state in another 12 months time. can you post some pics ? if not email me them and i wil post them for you

lincolnshire mate not far out of grantham on the a52. as i say they are still in egg form at this stage but they will soon be with us. they will be dna tested breeders rung and supliment fed on a good rich diet.
