  2. Your marksman must be a handy shot and i guess the dogs saved some leg work of having to fetch them all in.
  3. Well done to the bitch sounds like she did well. Thats definitely the best way to bring a first season dog on"SLOWLEY BUT SURLEY"its not easy but they should experience minimal failure. Keep it going and good luck with her,she looks in great condition also mate.
  4. Just wondering when people feed there dogs prior to a days-nights running. I usually give it about 12 hours say i was off out at 6am i would feed them about 8pm the night before. I do it that way to make sure the dog has converted the food into fuel. Do people agree with this or do some like to give a bit extra a few hours before?
  5. Sorry to hear about your pup R.I.P p***y.

  15. Looks like you had a good do lads well done i had a dazzle last night it was also nice and dark with plenty of cloud then sods law 1/2 an hour into the night at about 11.30 the moon broke through the clouds making things rather difficult it always seems to happen great conditions when you set off then when you get there or shortly after it goes still, the moon comes out or the fog comes down :11:I try to make the most of the best nights thats for sure,i managed a few trophies last night so not all bad and the dogs are a little fitter.
  16. My first taste of hunting was about sixteen years ago a mate of mine had a lab greyhound i tagged along with him a few times and then decided to take an old stray mongrel that had took a shine to me he spent most of his time with me and then every now and then he would take himself off to were he went i don't know but he always turned up a couple of days later he was surprisingly good at finding rabbits had a good nose quite a good bushing dog useful around the gorse bushes i got the buzz and about a year after i invested in my first lurcher and never looked back.
  17. I agree with whats been said about breaking your dogs to sheep early as that's what I've always done and my dogs have always been bob on with sheep the trouble i have now is due to me loosing my young dog I've had to get another"OLDER"dog in and although I've not come across any sheep with her yet im quite sure she wont be used to them as she wont have ran in sheep country with her previous owner if this is the case i may be in for a rough ride as I've never had to break a two year old to sheep before i wouldn't really want to use the ram technique as she is quite a nervous dog anyway but Id
  18. Enjoyed that mate looking forward to the next one. Due to you running all the dogs do you not have any bother with the dogs colliding?
