Well if its not staged its road kill.. anyone who has been out with BOP's will know they kill with there feet and talons granted most strikes will be mostly on the preys back or flanks, but they still have to work ip to the head and crush it with their talons to kill it especially predators like fox and badger that have big teeth... and none of the heads of them carcases looked worked on by a golden eagles feet to me. But i do know golden eagles can take fox... but red deer... its not sinbad!

That picture looks staged to make the birds look efficient in pest control to win people/farmers/ gamekeepers over and id imagine if that ringed bird had a feast like that there would be fur scattered all over twigs and not several clean and sizeable chunks it looks like a tidy buffet or snackbox.
There site is called Cairngorms Nature on FB.They said they also found bits of a roe deer fawn and a red deer calf.More fox cubs were brought to the eyrie before the chick fledged by both parents.Its a long and dangerous climb to the eyrie with a bag of vermin on your back IMO.Edited to add they said they are hares.I don't think they have any agenda its a Nature site.

Some good digging round the downs been doing a bit there this year chalky but not to bad like your comment about voice in terriers something I always aim to but into any pups I bred imagine if all the belman stopped working there would be a lot of fellas not able to get out or only doing puppy spots until they were able to get some baying dogs part of the enjoyment for me is being able to hear a good terrier beneath my feet keep ticking them county's of your list I have done a few but still got plenty left gives you something to aim at
Which makes it easier to get GOOD?? digging dogs now rather than back in the day,where if they did not bark they were useless.

Took a few from under garden sheds in Dublin,very scraney and mangey,from eating from bins I would think,not healthy like the Country foxWas up the hills in Wicklow one day in a sheep farmers house when his City relations told him they let urban foxs loose on his hill,he nearly had a stroke.

Is it not the case that most of these old timers didn't have locaters available to them were they even invented then and if they were they probably wouldn't be arsed paying for one out of pure stubborness.
The reason nobody had them was they were not invented.Are you serious with that statement they would not buy them from pure stubbornness?Do you think that the generation that went before you were stupid people.They survived and reared familys in much harder times than now,they had very few cars,they walked or rode bicycles,they ploughed with horses,they lived of the land,they done hard manual labour,they worked for a pittance.THEY SURVIVED because they were intelligent people.

the old ways are a great education for youngsters and respect for the talent ye have for locating dogs in france it is a gift but why not stick a locating collar on dog in case things go wrong the old boys would of used them if they were available at the time i presume you use bayer/mixer types and there isnt a rush to get to dog fair play then but hard mute dog needs collar but as said these hard dogs were a cull years ago Not fit for purpose how times have changed.I've travelled and dug all over, including the trials, men if the 80s and 90s were more respectable and able to find a dog, locators were unreliable and we looked and learned. Now IMO the system is easy, walk 40m dig down 1.5 to a thump every now and again. Its about learning IMO. Them days it might take 3 hrs to find the dog, never mind dig it!!! Only my thoughts chaps. It makes and gives experience, when it goes tits up its grand to have knowledge in the bank.
I don't want to speak about who's the best, older or younger.
According to me and my sons, search is the most pleasant part of a hunt. We like it. I don't use locator. I don't put collar on dog, we could be tempted to use after few hours.
Nowadays, some climb to the top of the mountain with a helicopter before descending on skis. Others continue to climb on foot with a mountain ax and skis on the back.
Yes mute dogs were culled,and down our way fox dogs that would not work badger were giving away because he was only a fox dog.Would that make the standard of dog better?

yrs ago nobody give a fxxx what you were doing,we bumped into some idiot last week there squealing an shouting he was a member of some club iwft summat like that we shouldnt be on ground doing foxs theirs cubs about
anyway f****d him off cxxt called the gards lol .these clubs ruining it running round shows posing whos the fanciest waterboots on,lolthe oul hands were rough n ready yrs ago but didnt care who done what holes better terriers aswell imo.If it was not for the IWTF idiots as you call them,you would not be digging foxs or cubs at all,and when the Guards were called you would be going to prison.So bye their hard work these f***ing c**ts(your words)saved you going to jail.
