Is there traps larger than a Larsen which can catch large numbers of Magpies. If so how would you build it? Info please Knifebar

Keep up the good work, since I have culled the Magpies I have brilliant coloured finches in the garden. I now have 4 Green finches which I never seen in these parts before. My goal would be to have Yellow Hammers back as its been some 20 years since I last saw them. P.S. I have trapped a good few birds but every day there seems to be the same number flying about they don't seem to be gettting less in numbers or is the counryside saturated with them? Opinions if someone knows more info on them(MAGPIES). Knid regards Knifebar

Laddy under no circumstances go into farming, Its poorly paid 24/7 no social life, no quitting time, bad prices, high costs and thats before you start a family. No woman in their right mind would marry you and if she did, well gone and split up once poverty strikes 2 weeks after honeymoon. PLASTERING PLASTERING PLASTERING PLASTERING. Hard work but will pay dividends after about 5 years. Nobody likes their job (except game keepters). You have to take the shit sometimes but in farming you get the shit all the time. I'm sorry to dissapoint you but I was using an old single barrell Baikel, 12 bore. Kinda got used to it, one of those rabbits was out 70-80yrds out. Knifebar

Pigeons are notorious for destroying CABBAGES, common fact, so if you find your cabbages dug up or eaten this is pigeon and I would say that it can be culled as they are hazzardous to you home farming enterprise. I find it hard to take into account you feel it neccessay to cast doubt on my shooting ability. Cartridge EXPRESS SUPER GAME AAA 36g. Firearm 12 Guage Single Barrell Baikel P.S. I use AAA to shoot rabbits and also it's the only cartridge I have successfully used to kill Magpie. I seldom miss with this cartridge 50-90 metres. Knifebar

Went to Ballywalter Show once, never go again, it was shite. The wife enjoyed the tour of the house though. Particular liked the design of the "IRISH WINDOW". Knifebar

Does anyone know or could suggest the best rifle and cailbre for shooting foxes and rabbits. Rabbits mostly, up to about 150metres out. Is a person permitted to shoot birds ie crow magpie grey if feeding on the ground with a rifle. Thoughts forum. Knifebar.

The chap whom gave me the Call Bird said it was a FEMALE MAGPIE, on which I presume got Magpies in. Keep trying but don't give up This year I have Shot 7 Magpies Trapped 2 (today) Currently making my 2nd Larsen which is better built than the 1st. The fight goes on - no holding back Knifebar

Huray hurray IT WORKED IT WORKED IT WORKED My larsen has finally yeilded MAGPIES !!!!! Got a Call Bird Today From a Very Kind Gentleman and he said it would work. Within 3 hours I have a bird in each trap, despatached and set again. Sorry I have not photo as I lost the Digital out fishing. (Wife went feckin mental) I have to say I was very dejected by the larsen as previous call birds died or got eaten by feral cats. But today was sucessful Toast to the HUNTING COMMUNITY!!!! # KNIFEBAR

if you have a ferret or get a loan of one and stake him out with a collar and apeice of string one magpie will spot him and start his call warnimg of a predator any magpies around will join him.There gaurd will be down as they will be 2 busy mobbing the ferret and you can pick them off quite easily.when you shoot ur first one let ferret have it .This will drive them wild bringing magpies from miles around.Just keep popping them off.I have shot hundreds this way Well, Thats good, I will try that as there are loads of Magpies here, I can shoot them no problem if they get close.

Shoot the feckers , its the only way (have got 6 and dad has 1) . If it's any consolation I have been trying to catch a Magpie since January and have failed miserabably. Knifebar THE FIGHT MUST GO ON!
