  10. Deben tracer max pro, with dimmer and filters. Get an ally scope clamp and dont buy into the silly flip down filters. Get the standard ones and tape them on, the reason for the tape is to stop the filter on the lamp echoing like a drum and also to stop the glare on the edge of the filter. Scan your field with the lamp somewhere near high, find your target and dim it down, it should give you an extra few yards stalking. If you have ruined and spooked the rabbits too much so far with a high powered white light then your possibly fecked.

  13. Looking good deakin, are you making them self assembly?
  14. Have you taken the safety off the fenns It could be rain washing it off the plate, slugs could be another culprit. I have found rats to be able to lick a trigger plate clean without setting the trap off but never squirrels. Try what talpa has suggested or change your bait. Use monkey nuts or something harder like brazils(feckin dear though, so you been a scotsman that wont be an option ). If you thread the nuts on wire and secure them over the plate may provide more success.

  16. Well with the farmer still not being very accomodating with traps, i have had to sneak the odd hour or two each evening this week to continue with the thinning and keeping up apearances until i can get on with the ferrets and nets next week. I have been landing on around 8pm each night and sneaking around until light is lost. Accounting for a bag of a dozen or more each night, to date i have taken 99 rabbits and yes mickeyblue my freezer is crammed. Admittidley young rabbits have made up a percentage of the tally but they still need to go and they provide a meal for the ferrets. There is

  18. Had a few hours out in the early morning on a new spot i have aquired. The new land comes as part of a rabbit clearance job im undertaking. Before i can get on the job, which consists of 3 large gardens and grounds, the adjacent farm land which holds much of the problem rabbits needs thinning, i would normally use traps at this time of year but the farmer isnt too happy with this aproach, Yet! The land i had a look at last night was around 30 acres in total, just confirmed another 170 this morning which holds a good amount of rabbits, hidden away under hawthorn and prickly thicket hedges.
