I have recently bought a springer and I was lucky enough to know the breeder and I saw the mother, father and grandfather of the dog I bought, and a wonderful dog he is to. Am so glad that these matters are being brought to the attention of people as it is so easy for anyone to just go and buy a dog. we in the working dog world get called by the antis , lacs, rspca, etc , when you see programs like the one in question and the kc one a couple of months back , it enforces My belief that are way of life is right and the care we take of the animals we use are bred to a high standard , from pups

everyone who has been involved in the comp have done a superb job , organiser, those who have entered and judged, if mark wins fair play to him and as LDR mentioned he has a good dog....the lamper plays a part in the outcome of the nights bag but surely its the dog/dogs we should be commentin on not the man behind the light .

there have been posts and photos that have proved the whippet's capabilities, no one needs to justify this superb (in my opinion) breed to the douters/uneducated .

As said in posts and shown in photos this breed is capable of more than the uneducated know or want to know, every breed of dog has faults if a thread goes up on any breed we could all look for faults and find them, ive been workin with 3 whippets the last couple of yrs (mine and my 2 mates) and the dogs have surpassed our expectations, the best thing i can say is 3 friends from ireland visited and we took them on the fast rabbits well after they seen the dogs in action (single handed) they where honest enough to admit they where gobsmacked, they said they looked at each other as we took ou

Well mate your statement sums up the workin whippet perfectly, how good a dog they are (there aint a wonder dog in any breed all have there good and bad points) , your words "potfillers, rabbit catchers, speed merchants, and great to watch " there are a lot of people who this type of dog would suit down to the ground, as for bein too light to cleanly kill bigger stuff that is obvious and not a fault of the dog but an owner who over matches his dog, also agree the fire in them can sometime be there undoin but to some that is a down side to others it a plus knowin the dog gives 100%. All the thefts of dogs seems to be getting more and more, when someone has dog/dogs stolen every body is sympathetic but i bet there are people who thought it wouldnt happen to them and it has , its gettin to the stage where its best to think IT WILL HAPPEN TO ME maybe then everyone will be so switched on and paranoid (i know it shouldnt come to this) they will leave no stone unturned reguarding security, this still doesnt guarentee safety but it certanily lowers the odds of them bein stolen, so cctv is good advice , but the more security the better.

Played football today for the 1st time in 10 yrs, thought i was fit as i do plenty of walkin on all terrain with the dogs every day, even do ok in the lakes followin the hounds, well im findin out now i may be fit for that but i aint fit to run round for 90 minutes twistin and turnin im in AGONY, just shows there is a different kind of fitness for each individual sport and bein able to do 1 doesnt mean you can be as fit in another.

ive had a few chats with him via p.m. he was spot on with me, keen on his dogs (which is what this site is about) really interested how the pup he bred which i fetched back for a mate is gettin on WORK wise and was genuienly delighted the dog had been started workin, give him regards from the rock fireman and tell him the pup is comin on a treat for Dave and he couldnt be happier.
