I bought this yesterday, traded my old theoben break action in for this, well pleased with the looks havent used it yet as i havent got a scope yet, but fired a few rounds through it very quiet!! :ph34r:

Cheers Duz, i have had my suspicions that it may be something like this she is 14 months old and it has just started in the last month, i would have expected her to have gotten over a knock by now, ill take her to the vets this week and get them to check it out.

Hi socks. its definately causing her discomfort, i know what you mean when they skip along on three legs, but this is even when she is walking or going up stairs. I just hope it isnt more serious than a knock, but i have felt all around the leg and she is showing no pain to touch. which is worrying me that it may be a hip or socket problem?

My JRT has been limping on her rear left leg quite badly now for a week, she doesent want to put any pressure on it and if given a few days rest it seems to get better but if she runs about on it for any duration of time shes back limping on it? Could it be she has damaged it or could it be a hereditory hip problem? whats your thought?? On a lighter note. She was fine last night so i took her for a walk around the river, and on my way popped into my old mans house to see if he wanted to come also, so he brought along his lab and spaniel, anyway about half way round we heard the dogs go

A gemekeeper i know has a line of sealyham cross russells that he does all work with there a nice looking type, been breeding them for 30 years.

Good stuff, i had my nephew out a few weeks ago ratting, had to force him to come at first but as soon as he was there he was in his element swinging a spade about after rats, first question he asked on the road home was can we go out again tomorrow!

Such a sad story tim, but by the sounds of it you loved her very much and she had a good life, i guess one of the only things you can take from this is that some people go a whole lifetime and never have a great dog like that, although you only shared two short years with one and other you have to cherish the time that she blessed you with.

one of plummers books says his dog disaperaed under water in a river and he thought hed lost it, but it had chased an otter under water and into its hole.

Far from experianced myself but id say you dont have a great chance of him cacthing a rabbit on the lamp he will miss a lot more than he will catch, you say he goes to cover well, so hed be more likely to catch one there where its sitting in cover already, as you say he is young and still learning, but let him rag a fresh carcass that should let him know what your after, or skin a rabbit and put it over a retreiving dummy for practising with.

I have a year old JRT bitch who is about 10 1/2 inches and weighs 10-11 pounds, now hypothetically speaking if fox hunting was legal would she be considered too lightweight to go to ground? she is a familly pet and if anything serious happened to her the missus wouldnt let me cross the front door again, so wouldnt want to risk that but just out of curiosity, when is a dog too small? hypothetically speaking of course!
