  1. I remeber a few gladiators came to our school about 10-15 byears ago, there was one called "nightshade" or similar and i can remember us all calling her lampshade cos she was no oil painting and we would have preffered if she put a lamshade over her face, kind of along the lines of body like baywatch face like crimewatch. Thinking back we were nasty little shits!! Feel a bit bad about it now, as she was trying to explain that wasnt her name and we were getting it wrong, of course we paid no attention and carried on with the name calling.

  11. cheers for the advice folks ive got the dvd, but i lent it to my mate after only watching it once so ill get it back and study it, i did wonder why more rats didnt bolt, i suspected some may be dying under ground as the holes were well used. And when i put the smoker in i just put it full blast so i must have put it on too much as the one rat that did bolt, bolted at the start. I did wonder about digging them but as it was on a sileage pit i didnt like to as the farmer may have been unhappy, ill wait till ive been a few more times, but at the last farm it will be a real possibility as ther
  12. Well i have been out at the rats with the smoker for the first time today, i bought a chainsaw off ebay for £40 all in and adapted it and welded a inch thick tube by around 10 inch long, this was the first time out ratting for me and my year old JRT bitch, we went to a farm where i have gotten permission to rat on and the farmer showed me where some holes were, so the dog showed some interest in the holes so i proceeded to start the smoker and let rip, but nothing so we moved on to a sileage pit where there were loads of holes and again started the smoker the holes were all spewing out smoke

  14. Hello russ welcome aboard good to see some other russell owners on the board!
  15. Having read two of plummers books i was of the understanding that he did a lot of digging in his earlier days but in his later days preffered ratting to digging hence his pursuit to breed a perfect ratting terrier, infact in his book omega he states he would not enter her to grond anymore as he valued her too much as a ratting terrier, and at the end of the day who can blame him for that?, horses for courses he preffered that and its his choice, he proved on many occasions his dogs were superior at ratting and im quite sure others could prove there dogs were better at foxing, but at the end o

  17. Well said taffy, the little knowledge i do have on terriers is that bull blood has played a part in most of the breeds discussed in this forum at some stage in there history.
