Not sure of the legallity either but have gutted on the roadside myself! Usually dig a hole and bury em though! Once did a roadkill munty in a ditch on the side of the road, was hit by the car in fron of me! Had the old bill stop and ask what I was doing but when I explained they just said OK hurry up and get off quick!

Yep that was the plan batteries hide collars etc just wasnt sure what to expect! So thanks commanche for the advise will give it a go. Did not want to lose the new jills on a first foray. Actually finished up with 2 locators and 3 collars. Guy who gave me tham was the first person to take me ferreting when I was about 12!

Hi all just getting back to owning my own ferts. Thanks to bigredbussa!!!!! Still have all my kit but was a 'line man' years ago! Have just been given a MK1 locator and couple of collars from a great mate who has 'upgraded' to the MK3! Does anyone have an instruction book for the MK1? A wiring diag would be good cos I would like an electronics mate to give them the once over before I venture out. Any help gratefully received

Never mad to try anything mate. The Ouse at St Neots has some good carp. Also at Huntingdon, nr river bridge. Had the odd one or two from a marina just up river from there up to 13lb. Same marina has some cracking tench in, have had them up to 7lb and bream to 10lb. -

Hi mate had a jill once who had similar symptoms. She was a bit lethargic staggering and not much control of her back legs /end. She seemd to be eating, rabbit pigeon etc and drinking. I called a vet who said he had no idea as to the cause. I finally got hold of the now departed Fred J Taylor for advice. After explaining how the fert was his thoughts were it may be a calcium deficiency. His suggested treatment was small mammals, mice, and birds, sparrows! For the bones I guess! Quick diversion but similar subject. Have a mate who had a 'pet' muntjac! Raised it by hand and it lived in house like a dog or cat! Was very tame and even litter trained! He had it for about 14 years!

Always used straw for my springer must be wheat straw though barley straw is a no no.
