I'm sure these are either ferrals or he only used the lamp so there was enough light for the photograph

I think you need to give up carpentry & those fingers will heal up just fine.

If you must have something pointy, you could try something that's almost pointy but not quite. AA Tru Hunter. Same weight as AA Field but with a slightly rounded point & therefore (IMO) holding their accuracy a little better over distance than a sharp pointy thing. As to your prposed choices, as ever, it's a matter of seeing what goes well in your particular gun & / or for a particular purpose. Superdomes are worth a try, if for no better reason than they're a bit cheaper. However, for most purposes you can't whack AA fields at round about 16 grains (in .22) Heavy enough to blat

A gas ram in a Meteor! The lad's on a budget & a gas ram on it's own costs nearly £60 plus delivery, even if they were in stock (which they're not) Not the best tailored advice I've heard this week. The SMK XS20 is a copy of the HW95k no question. I stress it's a copy, not the quality of the genuine article, but more than serviceable. A decent spring, a little fettling & lube & out pops a good'un on a budget. The Walther scopes on it work passable well for £35. The sport is pursued on many levels with budgets to match.

Try a 1 piece mount or if you have room on the scope rail (& a bit of latitude to slide the scope back a bit within the mounts) you could try a scope arrestor block behind the rearmost mount.

Having got both a BSA Meteor & an SMK XS20, I can't help saying that there is some total b*llocks being talked on this site. Meteor:- Cheap for a British made gun, robust but basic. Phsically quite small & light. Drawback, unless it's a MK7 it's going to be only putting out 8fpe so not best suited for hunting other than at closer ranges. Would suit shooter of slighter stature. SMK XS20:- Weihrauch HW95K clone. Let down only by an inferior mainspring (easily replaced) & therfore capable of full legal power with fit & finish the equal of the BSA. Accuracy & power are just f

If, after you've adjusted the trigger for pull weight, you find it's the shape of the trigger you're not in love with, you could try a trigger shoe. Never found the need myself but here's a link to an example on Fleebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=220286902818 Other trigger shoes are available, the price of trigger shoes may go up as well as down, your home is at risk if you buy too many trigger shoes & neglect to pay your mortgage.....etc.

I raised this issue on an American airgun forum. I don't think I got a straight answer. All they would say is they'd ship 'em labelled as spare parts when , in fact, it was a complete gun. Presume this makes HM Customs a bit less interested in the contents of the box. Suspect the exporter doesn't care as presumeably they are not breaking the law in the country of origin, but you'd reckon the only way to legally receive it is for it to arrive via a RFD.

Just had a quick look on the Ramsbottoms site £99.95 for a pump. There'll be P&P on top but hey, how much can it be? Get a refund (don't accept repair or replacement) Then on what you've saved, you can buy 3000 pellets....... should last you a bit

David Bowie had a "Little China Girl"... here's 2 of mine. LOL

Recently found some H&N FTT's in .22 (500) for £3.75 Bought 5 tins! Shop had twigged to their error by the next day. Should last me a bit...... now where's that b*stard squizzer been raiding my bird feeders. A dose of German lead is the cure methinks

Can't see the .22 shot-shells being either effective as a projectile (other than at ridiculously close range) or economic compared to pellets which cost less than 2 pence each. If you want a little shotty, get a 410 & a licence. For me it's just a gimmick to attract the kind of buyer that would otherwise be buying all the weird (sh*t) ammo made of plastic or having ballistic pointy bits on it, because it looks cool.

I use car engine oil. Cheapest being about £5 a gallon from the supermarket & in that quantity lasts forever. Beeswax wood polish, nicked off Mrs P for the stock, which provides a bit of extra grip if it's wet or your hands are sweaty. Yes there's a place for more specialized lubricants, but the exterior aint one of 'em. It's more a question of repelling moisture & removing sweaty handprints, so most of the time the stock just gets a rub with a soft cloth & the metalwork a quick wipe-over with an oily rag. But you gotta do it every time after you use the gun. Never put it away

I think what you need to know is:- 1) Cometa springs aren't that good. Mend it with a Titan XS from Jon Kinibbs & co next time you need a new spring. Set you back less than £20 posted. 2) Use of heavier weighted pellets will take it's toll on the spring eventually. An ideal medium weight pellet is around 15 grains e.g H&N FTT's. A bit lighter like Accupels at 14.3 grains is fine or a little heavier like AA Fields at 16 grains is still ok. Personally I can't see a need for anything lighter or heavier than the above for a .22, 12 fpe gun. I don't think you can whack the AA's for gen

I have a Walther 3x9x40 AO/IR, brand new off a Fleebay auction for £35. Good clear optics & a solid bit of kit for not much money. Even comes with mounts, though I replaced them with some Accushot mounts that have a stop-pin. If you're on a tight budget, these represent cracking value for money

If you're taking a daysack (small rucksack) for your kit or sandwiches etc you could try a "bladder" available from most camping / outdoorsy type shops for about £7. Holds at least a couple of liters & has a long tube with a bite-valve, so you don't even need to take it off your back. Because it's not a rigid container it can be pushed in easy as. My lad uses one when doing his Duke of Edinbro' hikes & such Not quite as flash as your kit but does the same job and it's cheap.

The most recent version of the 95K has a barrel that's 3 inches shorter than the previous version, so there has been a relatively recent update, other than which, the mechanics are the same. Have a look at the pic's on the BAR website. With a V-Match kit running at around £65 I wouldn't be inclined to fit one till a new gun has got a few miles on the clock. If you're planning on hunting, go for the 95K as the 97 is a bit heavy for lugging round all day

Is there enough of it left to have your trophy stuffed & mounted? It would look good in a fierce pose baring it's fangs as it goes for the kill
-
On a 2 piece mount it's generally just the rearmost mount that has the stop-pin which either pushes (or more often screws) down into a corresponding recess on the receiver. No rocket science required

About £460 plus the cost of the charging kit. Quite a price difference between bottom end Co2 & top end pcp

Looks like a Mk4 first produced round about 1974 Barrel seal has turned to crud & is a couple of quid to replace. However, if the barrel seal is in that state it's probably not seen any maintenance for a decade or so. So you might also need to replace piston seal & piston buffer washer (buffer washer will probably also have turned to crud by now). Whilst it's in bits, you might as well put in a new mainspring & do a lube job. Expect you're looking at 25 quidsworth of parts to put it back in good order, subject to nothing else being wrong with it. In fact, there aren't many ot

Old versions likely to put out only 8ft/lb unless tuned but still competent up to say 25 metres

"Fat Balls" Food for birds, about the size of a tennis ball. Bird seed, bound together in a lardy fat, inside a mesh or net bag. Or possibly huge swollen testicles. LOL
-
Shortest answer is, it's got a long silencer that doubles as a cocking-aid. All BSA's are solid built guns & you won't go far wrong with that

Hmm, your sister in law, as a copper, doesn't seem to mind bending the occasional law i.e unauthorized access to the PNC for personal use. Any way, not to dwell on that one. LOL However, I would have thought you could have checked that info' as a legit' data protection act inquiry any way No conviction = no offense to declare (and presumably the prosecution offered no evidence & the case was dismissed) Go for it, I doubt they can take the case into consideration.
