  2. So stick to rules be good boys and girls, use it as it should be used and thoo will be grand as out.
  3. The Legitimate groups and clubs are monitored and admin by dog people on Facebook as with HL, they dont allow allow illegal posts, individuals who start groups or their own profile littered with illegal photos are monitored by FB who arent hunting or dog people, like I said it down to the people and you wont change their attitude because they arent proper dog or hunting people, they are thugs with dogs and sadly it does reflect on us all, same with all the people caught with photos and vids on their phones......Like all internet sites HL, FB , Twitter they are open to all types of predators no
  4. Nothing wrong with Facebook, its the people using it, use it right and its a good tool, I run an Army reunion group and through Facebook we have made contact with lads we havent seen for over 30 years, I am also on a couple of dog clubs, where the content is limited, theres as much shite on here and if you think HL is safe and secure then think again, if you post crap anywhere then dont moan when the crap comes back to haunt you. Groups and clubs have admins on Facebook as on here, they monitor whats on, if you choose to put stuff on your own profile then its your responsibility, be smart keep
  5. Hes out every day following the Cattle dog bitch about, had hold of 3 bunnies already, just a game but hes learning to ratch and get through cover, over small fences etc a bit of fieldcraft, let him see a few this summer then about September hopefully penny dropped and start ratching.
  6. Out every morning, ratching the local fields, not hunting just letting the dogs run about work a bit of cover where they cant kill, I also relax the feeding and allow them to put a little weight on, I go to shows for the crack, dont show lurcher but got a whippet pup and will show it, I go to lure racing once a week for crack as well, time for chilling and enjoying the summer, will be starting the whippet pup off, letting it catch a couple ready for September. DIY time on the kennels and aviary, breed a few birds and do not a lot...well just enough to keep her indoors quiet.
  7. I think there will be in some form, not sure what is planned or if it it is before or after, try their website, Black Combe Country Fair, ask them
  8. Another factor in the cross which I have found and its just my view, I have always picked the heavier built, shorter coupled pup, the one that is more cattle dog looking than greyhoudy or racey built, I think these pups posses a greater prey drive than the more racey ones I am willing to to forsake top speed for the stronger working ability and stamina, none have top end gears of a speed merchant but are fast enough to do the job. You will have some fun with the Kelpies, as long as you are out and about with the dogs, scenting and hunting thats the main thing, you can only eat so much rabbit
  9. CLUB SHOW 24TH OF MAY FLIMBY ARLFC FLIMBY MARYPORT CUMBRIA , CA15 8PL RACING FROM 11.00AM SHOWING 1 PM, FOR TERRIERS ,WHIPPETS LURCHERS AND THIS YEAR SCENT HOUNDS
  10. Thanks Neal, and your right they do produce good lurchers, until I got this little bitch for the last few years I always had ACD first cross greyhound, all good workers but this little bitch has been the special one, her prey drive, scenting and ability to catch considering her lack of top end speed is great, still going strong at 7 but sadly probs my last dally with ACD, What do you think it is that gives her the edge over the previous ones you've had? Is it the addition of whippet (temperament/speed differences), the different ACD used, the sex (if your previous ones weren't bitches) or
  11. Organisers are looking into holding some Lurcher/whippet racing as well.
