  1. Having read this from cover to cover I cant help feeling that some of you dont know what overshot /undershot is .THESE 2 ARE JAW DEFORMITIES.Just so you know -overshot jaw means the top jaw protrudes over the lower jaw in varying degrees. Undershot jaw -this means the top jaw is inside the lower jaw in varying degrees To put up with either of these shows one of two things -the breeder has poor standards of confirmation . The local gene pool is saturated with this deformity and the breeder is loathe to look elsewh
  2. Good read mate. Now that B Plumber is gone the likes of Phill Loyd can talk about dogs and not the constant whinging of before .
  3. Pit bull dog over grey dam every time .The way I know it is the dam is usually the size and brains contributer and the dog influences the temperament and colour .Like someone said ,these crosses over here anyway are game to the end but need a firm hand regarding whats quarry and whats not ie-other dogs.
  4. no mate there *** on No harm in getting your own independent expert to check things out ,tweak co-ordinates  .
  5. Socks is right .What I would say about failing pups is this -There is a reason for it .If the pup has not the will/strength to help itself, then personally I would not prolong its life .Call it harsh ,call it lazy ,call it what you like but Ive found weak pups make weak adults somewhere a long the line .there is something wrong somewhere with an animal that does not have the WILL to live .
  6. Totally agree mate which is why I bought the 222 The problem arises when you are rabbitting and you see maybe a particular fox you have been after .As we all know ,the .22 rf needs a bit of practice at different ranges to be efficient, and this margin of error is enough to hit the chest of a fox at ranges exceeding that which the sights are set for .I just wondered if anyone shot foxes regular enough with the rimfire to be confident in it . foxdropper.
  7. As I stated mate ,a strain is created when you are happy with what you are breeding and it breeds true. It does not matter how many pups you turn out ,they have to breed true. This is only possible by line breeding .It depends what you want in a terrier or any dog for that matter as it takes a few generations to install new factors .History of the root stock is of course very important .The rest is trial and error. If your stuct on getting a terrier from a big name then make sure you buy one from the man himself as there are a lot of terriers bred every year and passed off as such and such .D
  8. Cant speak for tarmac but use 1 inch steel water pipe which any plumber can thread and then join handle to spade with pipe connector.[sorry for hyjacking your thead tarmac]
  9. Basically ad-lib the food and water with the suppliment .Watch her as the pups are weaned that she is still not gourging .Weight is hard to get off in this situation.
  10. Mate of mine has one which he unscrews to reveal a bar inside the tubing .
  11. DO NOT GIVE LACTOL TO THE BITCH.IT IS A MILK SUBSTITUTE AND NOT FOR ADULT DOGS .SHE WILL SCOUR LIKE HELL AND POSSIBLY DEHYDRATE .
  12. Sounds great mate ,never hunted in your country mate but for sheer guts to the end and decent stamina I would choose a bullxgreyhound every time. These dogs would I feel ,suit you running in twos. The biggest american pitbull to the fastest grey sounds good .Happy hunting and welcome to the site . foxdropper.
  13. Woodgas topic got me thinking about whether or not we should use a .22 rimfire for fox.Im sure we have all done it but used regularly ,how many foxes running off injured into the night is acceptable. If the quarry is rabbit and the rimfire is loaded with sub sonics, should we attempt a shot at a fox which unless a head shot could go either way ?
  14. they should have all the lads with pit bulls waiting at airports and ferry ports, only 2 dogs per immigrant tho. bnp all the way Id judge that cup any day .I do feel the 50 yards is a bit far though ,for those stumpy legs.
  15. Lot of truth there Kane but not what the lad asked . My perseption of a strain of dog is when it breeds true to type after several generations of breeding for a desired look, colour, weight, and temperament.Successive offspring must breed true.A blue print of these traits must be stamped on the D.N A. Line breeding to the same sire, put to his offspring and then to their offspring {if he lives that long}will start the process but it takes many generations to produce a strain. Most ,if not all strains need the out cross of fresh blood every once in a while if only to add hybred vigor, freshen immun
  16. Was there any thoughts on the management of the local deer or did you shoot the first 2 seen?
  17. Get real pinnochio. I think you will find she did Most pups will carry at 6weeks old .My pups are always given fox brushes but it dosnt mean they killed it. In my experience ,a dog starting too early is usually in for a short career.Oneredtrim- cracking post mate. Some strains of terrier are known for producing early starters but Ive not seen many of these make the 3 season mark if worked regular .Allow the pup to mature both mentally and physically before entering ,something a 3 month old has done neither of .
  18. Who benifits from the blame being laid at the immigrants door? not the immigrants , not us, aslong as we are looking the other way at johny foreigner, we not able to watch them pickin our pockets (again) Moomoo-I see you have changed your views a bit since last night .? Of course the immigrants benefit .The more anybody speaks out against them ,the more laws are put in place to protect them.We ,Im talking about white British ,are afraid to look at these people the wrong way incase they shout racial harrassment. How fuc.king dare they *** Christmas plays in schools,Christmas cards,Anythin
  19. There are places on here for working dogs maam.Try terriers or running dogs.General talk is exactlywhat it says it is .
  20. Foxdropper has never read a falconry book in his life .Read the thread newby.
  21. Thats bang on For a small town where I live the stabbings in the area has gone up ten fold. there has always been Punch ups which would be settled the usual way as most lads in the UK know how, the problem now is different races have different cultures which clash with our, when they fight and they lose or get invloved in a brawl the simple way out for them is to stick the next person with a Knife, the thing is they know no different its in their make up. One of the most crazy things I read was during the latest conflict in Iraq sadam released prisoners who had been done for Rape, Mur
