    A keper of ours has them on our shoot last 3 years they are good as an early warning system but hey have come that use o certain dogs they dont back off now when we pull up at keepers cottage they roost on his conservatory shit everywhere and generallly make noise from 5 am in the morning till goes dark all in all waste of time... not sure whatart of country your in but u can pick them up at CLITHEROE AUCTION FOR ABOUT A FIVER A TRIO Only good guineafowl is a oven ready fecker .Noisey c**nts .

    Your ignorance can be excused mate as it was 22lb,7oz .Pike are ,i agree very hard to put a weight on ,especially a photo .I too have had 'teens that looked heavier than this .Possibly not holding it well enough to show it off to the full .

    An invite to fish a local private lake Sunday afternoon meant only one thing ,pike .The invite was a bit short notice so had to dash to sainsbury's for a look along the fresh fih trays .Decided on fresh troutand stuck with it as it dosnt get used on this water .Set up the two rods with head and tail sections on each .Threw the baits in the margins by hand and turned on the buzzers.Just sat down to read my book when the nearest buzzer went off on a screamer .Struck into a decent fish,played it on the back wind and netted her quickly .I dont like to play pike long as they take longer to ecover .

I once worked on a farm for a while ,blocklaying and the farmer had a big white tom cat that knew how to bully the farm dogs ,partly because the farmer shouted at them if they so much as looked at the cat .This cat it was said ,was not afraid of anything and drove foxes off from the buildings at night .[not hard] .I was told the silage clamp was being emptied the next day and rats were expected in number .I asked if i could bring along my little terrier cross and was told i was welcome as long as i was aware of the cat .The ratting passed with not as many seen as

    I remember my gran hanging one in the porch for a while with its throat cut wide ,guts in .The blood was collected for use in the gravy making .She pot roasted it with all the veg but god did it smell rank .No amount of disguise could cover up that rotten hare ,yet my grandad thought it was the dogs bollocks .I'd rather slow cook a saddle these days and give the rest to the ferrets ,fresh .

    Those who said stitch it are in my opinion the better dog men .In conjuntion with a head collar the wound is a 10 dayer/2 weeker and not a month .No need for vets either .All running dog lads /lasses should have by now bought the staples from CMW.A small sterile tube is put next to the lowest staple as a drain which needs to be kept clean and clear .Excellent ,even if you get some else to stitch your own dog . Think about it .You know it makes sense . Foxdropper .

    Anyway ,back to lurchers and cats, yes they will ,bull optional .Feck me ,ive have a tiny 20 inch terrier cross lurcher that did a dozen ferals in a morning .Whitewarrier will vouch for that .
