Pleased your dog is going to be ok BUT? A few rabbits would of been fine this time of year with the ground being like is it up here hard as concrete. good luck for the coming season.

If it's to biuld the dogs confidence up I would run him on mixy rabbits this time of year as they can be a bit easier on the dog.plus your doing the rabbits a favour by not prolonging their suffering.

I think we're going off the subject here lads .original question was : Yes...I would like to hear more on "Cowan's" terriers,myself.A "very" irritating fellow here(in the U.S.)owns a "Cowan's" male Lakie(that same terrier is just about as big as a "Airedale"! lol!)and "rants&raves" about his "abilities"... :whistle: Any terrier that works to ground, it's main purpose is to find the quarry and bolt it or stay with it till it can be dug to.

Pleased you got the dog back. If it has a habbit of going down holes I would either keep it on a lead or put a locator collar on it.

Lunsdale uses some of his terriers, I did'nt say fell packs in my write-up. where you from fellman hope you enjoyed your days with the fell packs.

I know john Cowan and his wife,he breeds some goood terriers mainly for work.He does'nt work them as much as he used to due to getting older as we all do.Some of his dogs are working for local hound packs.His dogs do well at hound and terriers shows through the summer.I can't believea a dog is as big as an airdale. some of them might be up on the leg but that is because of the ground they work on.. John has been breeding working lakelands for over 50 years

Don't want to know about minshaw lurchers but you want to use a stud dog? you breeding for money mate.on another site you say you breed borders the dogs you use not got background's ie working ,good pedigree or just champion winners?If your going to use a stud dog you want to know a bit about it surely.

Sorry to say this but the 1st pic has'nt showed that his dogs work below ground.I'm not saying they don't, but what I see in the 1st pic is 4 dead cubs and two very clean dogs.
