We live in a sovereign state called 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland', which is made up of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland (Also known as 'Ulster' and 'The North of Ireland', by different factions). I'm all in favour of complete independence for Cornwall, Scotland and Wales. Let them get on with it.

we made the police look like idiots whilst ferreting
Matt replied to ferretsandhawks's topic in Fowl & Feather Talk
I think you need to check your legal facts. 'No law on ferreting'? Did you have permission to be there? 'Common Land' does not mean that you can help yourself! But it is nice to see the police taking a more lenient attitude. -
'Cadge Traps'? Are they the ones you get free off your mates? I think for the OP, it depends on what you have that needs trapping. Before you start doing any trapping, you need to familiarise yourself with the rules and regulations that apply in your country (Scotland has different laws to the rest of the UK). Next, you need to make sure that you are able to comply with those rules and regs. Pests cause disease and damage property, but that doesn't mean that anyone can trap them if they so choose. You need to make sure you have full, written permission before you even get your tr

Lets face it, all MP's claim expenses, and ours claims less than most of the others. He is against uncontrolled immigration, and in favour of hunting. He's also served in Iraq (he's in the TA as a doctor). To suggest he 'charges' to open schools is unfair. He is entitled to claim for expenses incurred while carrying out constituency work, like opening schools. Whether that is right or wrong is not up to him; they all do it, whatever party they represent. In terms of expenses, Murrison claims much less than most Labour MP's. Hunting is hunting. There is no suggestion that th

Got to agree there Edd. Murrison is a good local MP who gets out and about in the constituency, and supports the countryside. If you never voted for a candidate because they spent too much, then you'd never vote at all. They are all on the Gravy train to some degree. Anything except a tory vote in these marginal liberal/tory areas will result in Gordon Brown retaining power and more of the same crap. Save your venom for the anti countryside Labour and Green party candidates, or the RSPCA supporting BNP.
-
If running an efficient constituency and parliamentary office means being on the gravy train like all the other MP's, then he's guilty. BUT, he IS PRO HUNTING!
-
Trying to catch a rat or two for a pup? That would be illegal and very silly.
-
What a load of rubbish. So if you don't vote BNP you will be be-headed? Unbelievable crap as usual from the camouflaged Nazis.

Make sure they are the genuine Magnum BMI's. Some of the cheap fakes are very difficult to set.

It is, but how much is a job like that worth? I've got farms on the books here for £4000, so an initial outlay is soon got back over the lifetime of the contract. I think the OP is referring to the myth that rats on pig and poultry units cannot be baited because of Vitamin K being added to foodstuffs. It is a myth, and has now been proven as such by BASF/Sorex. The Vitamin K is the wrong sort, and even if it wasn't, the rats would have to eat so much of the stuff that they would be the size of elephants. Price it right, do it right, and keep it.

Alex Salmond was on the radio today; and he's starting to sound credible. I'm in favour of the scotch having autonomy of their own economy, and then, if it works, let 'em have their independence. The only catch would be that they would not be allowed to sit in both parliaments at the same time, and scotch MP's should not be allowed to vote on matters that do not affect them in the westminster parliament (the hunting act being a classic example). At least that way, English taxpayers would not have to fund scotch overspending any longer. Cue a rant from Tom about oil revenue.....

They have promised a free vote on hunting in their manifesto. Not hunting with hounds, but hunting. Many people believe that there will be a repeal bill, which will get rid of a whole heap of legislation (ID cards, hunting and other stuff), and that they will then allow a free vote on a new hunting bill as before. The chances are that if that happens, then they will not allow time for a bill, no matter what the outcome of the free vote is. We all have to accept that while hunting is a big issue for us, the majority of the electorate consider the economy and other issues to be far

If you vote BNP then you are voting for a party that supports, and helps to fund the RSPCA.... If you vote New Labour, then you are a poor deluded soul. Vote for change, vote for the future, and most importantly, VOTE FOR HUNTING!
-
Does anyone here plan to vote tactically at the election? Is your current MP an anti? Is there a candidate that has a chance of beating the current MP (no matter what party they are standing for). While hell would need to freeze over before I'd ever vote Labour; I think that if I was living in a constituency where the sitting Conservative MP was an anti, I'd have to think about it carefully.... This is the most interesting election for sixty years. Now is the chance to use the tiny amount of power given to us as our constitutional right. Will you use the power to have yo

You're on a hunting forum, and you are voting labour??? FFS, I've seen it all now.... You carry on, vote for the lying, thieving, discriminating scum........ most of us have had enough of 'New Labour', and their broken promises and lies. "We won't put up income tax" - so they put up National Insurance "We'll clean up politics" - and three of them get legal aid to defend their fraud, while the party take a massive backhander off the antis. Gordon Brown was never elected as prime minister, and shafted each and every one of us when he was Chancellor. Heard about how he

hoover, nothing is cleared for use on ladybirds Not true. Any insecticide cleared for the control of flying insects can be used for Harlequin Ladybirds (Aquapy, Insectaban, Ficam, etc). Hover flies are harmless, and should not be controlled. Their larvae are known as 'rat tailed maggots'.

@ IanB.......... all taken in good spirit Pestpro is nothing to do with me anymore; I'm just a member, so no, not an advert, merely a reminder...... I did think it was worth reminding a few old members that it was still about. It went through a 'quiet' period, but in the last few weeks it's been very busy on there. As for the meaning of 'Pro', I'm sure we could fill a whole new thread with that one!!! But seriously, to clarify, Pestpro is a forum for professional pest controllers (by 'professional' we mean those who are qualified, competent and work in the industry), trappers ar

We've been into this before SS, but here are a link for you: http://rspcainjustice.blogspot.com/2009/10/rspca-have-nazi-bnp-links.html Also from their own site: Oh, and THIS LINK is a cracker from their own website telling the world how good they are re-opening an RSPCA office. There ye go folks! If you want to help more RSPCA offices stay open, and help more money get raised so that the RSPCA can campaign against hunting, then support them.
-
I thought this may be a good time to remind any professional pest controllers on here that the Pestpro Forum is thriving at the moment. There are lots of very good threads on there, with none of the bitching associated with the other pest control forums. Pete has also added a chatroom to the forum last night.

Voters should also remember that the BNP also support the RSPC@.

Anyone contemplating a vote for the BNP should remember that they SUPPORT THE RSPC@ :wallbash:

A cat remains the property of it's owner until such time as the owner relinquishes ownership, or the cat becomes feral. There is no legal precident that I'm aware of to confirm what 'feral' actually means, so great care should be taken to ensure that you are squeaky clean before taking action to destroy a feral cat. 'Best Practice' which is what the courts use when making this kind of judgement requires that the animal is caught alive and scanned by a vet, and if ownership cannot be proved, the animal can then be humanely destroyed. Interestingly, there is an article in this edition of '

Fireman, you've just confirmed my worst fears about you. Here are some basic facts that everyone should be aware of: You are not entitled to shoot cats, unless you can prove, categorically, that they are feral The owners of cats (unlike dogs) cannot be held responsible for the actions of their animals Shooting a cat illegally is likely to find you in court, charged with criminal damage, and will loose you your gun licenses. Oh yes, and for the second time fireman, it is NOT illegal to release pests unless they are covered by the 'alien species' legislation.
