    agree if you enter to quarry with out all the training done you will have no controll when the exitment is with the rabbit and not you. i would get breaking to ferrets and start this way as a rabbit in a net will boost confedence and is a much more controlled enviroment for you both to learn

    try putting a skin around some thing she can tug. get her into the game before adding the skin when she is into it play with her all of a sudden let go a run backwards making stupid noises hold in out your hands. if your lucky she may try to re initiate the game of tug and retrieve it to hand un knowingly kf she does make a fuss and play. do this over and over on seperate ocations stopping when she is enjoying herself and left wanting more

    i think that you would be better to aproach the subject thinking what breed would suit you best and go with that for example. i ferret land that is mainly hedgrows on small fields. there is never safty far away for the bunny so accelaration is more important then speed. the dog is relied upon to mark so its nose is important. i ferret in all weather so coat is important to fit in my household needs to be not much over the 20 tts mark and be able to be trained in the way i do it. i went with beddi whippet

    i would be willing to give a youngster a chance show them how to care for train and use there stock but when i offered someone a chance as a hunting partner had no takers i have done all the hard work gaining permission over the years and earning trust and was offering as long as they wanted i wanted to find the right person to trust and in time off load some permission on them

    i ferret in a few locations and have found that the colours change slightly from place to place have quite a black ones about this year around me also noticed the numbers have increased a lot aswell as the hare population. walked a natural shoot yest with the keeper and counted over 100 hares on a two hour walk.

    right i have only had to use the time out once tonight so far we have had several play sessions out side burning off pent up energy and she has had no exitable engagement in the house and she is undercontrol of herself at the present. i think it will take a while and a lot of repertition to get her to fully understand. in view of thinking ahead i think that when i have put her into her create for a time out on some ocations she is going to whine and howl at this point do would you sugest that i ignore it and carry on as norm or should i leave her to stop before returnig to her and lettin

    thank you to all that have replied and thank you penny for the detail and offer. i have been thinking about all that has been said and have decided to do a combi of things .the time out method coupled with not having any playfull interaction in the house. myself and my wife have had a chat and have devised a routine that we can both be consistant with so hope( dogs name ) can understand her place. going to use the ouch method aswell steve as it worked with faye and i have had a positive reaction with hope with it today . she has had her first jab today and is feeling rather sorry for herself

    the idea of her not having any exitable engagement in the house is interesting and i can see the logic . would be hard to execute as my wife may not be as consistant as me but i am open to ideas
